Quick question on installing Firewall Adjuster.

This might be a stupid question, but where the clutch cable meets the firewall, there is a white plastic piece where it meets the black rubber grommet, and i think this is where the firewall adjuster should go. How do I remove this from the firewall so i can bolt in the adjustable one?

Do i need to unhook the clutch cable from the fork? I'm using a stock cable and quadrant if that matters.

I have an aluminum quadrant, but it should be the same. Unhook the cable from the quadrant, unscrew the screw that holds the rubber grommet in place on the firewall, pull the clutch cable through the firewall. Take off the rubber grommet, put the cable through the firewall adjuster, push it through the firewall, hook it back up to the quadrant, then adjust the tension and tighten the firewall adjuster up.

You might have to loosen the clutch cable by the tranny to enable you to get it off the quadrant. I had to. Pretty easy though. The alunimum firewall adjuster is a lot better. I'm sure you will like it.

That white plastic piece needs to be pulled out...Its a beotch to get out (trust me!) I had to break it in to little pieces to get it out using various tools and devices...good luck

Ok, so i just removed the plastic cable housing piece and unhooked the cable from the quadrant. Now i can pull the cable back about 3 or 4 inches until i hit that next plastic piece (that white thing on the bottom of this picture)

How do i get the cable through there so i can pull it out through the firewall?

First you need unhook your cable from your clutch fork. That will free the cable from tension. Then you have to push the cable back through the sleeve so you have slack under the dash. Look under the dash over your gas pedal and you will see your stock quadrant. Unhook the cable from the quadrant and then you can unbolt the screw from the firewall that holds the cable in place. Remove the rubber grommet and throw it away. You will see 4 small tabs that hold the rubber grommet in place on the plastic. You will need to trim them off with a razor blade so the adjuster will slide on easily. Now slide on the adjuster and screw it back in place on the firewall. Set the adjuster maybe somewhere in the middle to give you a starting point. Then hook the cable back onto the quadrant and pull the slack tight from the bottom. Hook the cable back up to the clutch fork. Pull the clutch pedal backwards with your hands to set the factory automatic adjuster. Then push the clutch in with your foot a couple of times. Adjust it at the firewall until the pedal lets out where you want it to.

Ok can u give me some more detail on how to unhook the cable from the quadrant. I already unhooked it from the fork, now i went under the dash and looked above the gas pedal, and i see the quadrant, but i'm not sure where the cable actually hooks onto the stock quadrant. Do i disconnect the cable from under than dash or from the engine bay?

Do you mean the rubber grommet that will go between the plastic piece and the FW if you didn't have a FWA? Yes, remove it. Flat plastic surface will mate with flat FWA surface.

When u say flat plastic surface, do u mean the white plastic piece that was connected to the rubber grommet? If so, I had to break that white plastic thing into a bunch of pieces in order to get it off the cable, just like IMPORTSMOKER.
