"The distributer is being a bitch and not wanting to go all the way in. "

Make sure that the oil pump shaft has proper clearance in it! I had same problem many years back where distributor would not seat properly and I never gave thought that the FMS hardened shaft was too tall. Found out the hard way shortly after when shaft snapped in two.

Mike I set the clearance with a stock dist I had, did you check it with your's? When you put the dist in earlier in the build when you were putting the pan on was it still hard to get in?

Make sure you put some oil or assembly lube on the gear before you install it. I've never run into a clearance issue with the FMS shaft, just the ARP's.

Have a safe weekend, if you need any help give me a shout. Let me know about the oil pump shaft....

Rick it went in fine, its just yesterday when I tried putting it in it wouldn't go. Hopefully it goes in tomorrow and it doesn't hold me up.

I will throw some arp lube on it.

Rick you have mail.

The pump shaft wasn't in the oil pump hole, thats why it wasn't going in. I used a magnetic tool and got the shaft in place. Right now I have the oil pump primer in and all set to go.
