Tonight coming home from a party in the suburbs this guy in a early 90's vette comes up next to me and revs. He had an exhaust on it but I think that was about it. Keep in mind, I never see vettes on the highway. And never are any of them willing to race. So I took the occasion to take the jump on him. I think those vettes have lt1's so I knew he would pull so why not take the hit. I drop it into 3rd at about 70 and start movin. He wasn't to far behind after I goosed it. I redline in 3rd and powershift into 4th getting a good bark out of the nittos. He slowly pulls a half a car length and I think it was an automaic. He shifted and I stayed right next to him. He no longer pulled on me.

How the heck did I keep up with an lt1. Thats like 80+ more HP than me and he couldn't walk away. We went pretty far into 4th gear. I dont remember, I wasn't looking at the guages. What do they run at the track?

Barking nitto's in fourth gear??? I have ran across a few of these cars willing to race and they don't seem that fast, beat one from a railroad crossing untill 3 gear then we both lifted but I was about 2 cars ahead. It was aslo an automatic as well. Not nearly as fast as the 97 up LS1 vetts. Don't be fooled by the early 90's vetts because some are extremly fast with a few mods.

I've seen a few early 90's and late 80's vettes on my engine builders dyno when he has car club days. Those years usually dyno around 200 rwhp in my experience. Why that is I don't know but in stock form they're not impressive.

Those are probably L98 vettes. I know an LT1 Z28 will dyno in at around 223RWHP stock. So an LT1 vette should dyno in fair amount higher.
