well, i just got the car a week ago, and iam still learning everything on it... well, it had set for a few days, so i checked all the fluids on it.. so the coolant tank was below where it says "full cold" . so i added some in it up to where it say "full hot" ... well, i took it out today around the block, and when i got back the coolant was about 3"s about the "full hot" mark... so, did i add too much or is this normal???? i dont want ot to overflow or something when i take it out too town....

When you checked the fluids after the car had been sitting for a while you should have just topped off the coolant to the 'full cold' line. When you're driving around the coolant will expand up toward the 'full hot' mark. You may want to extract some of the extra coolant.

^^ thats what the overflow tank is for.

It's actually more of a recovery tank. The coolant will flow both out of the radiator (overflow) and flow back IN (recovery). That's why the level goes up and down.

If you take some coolant out, so it's at the right level -- you will be able to monitor your coolant level easier. That's about the only reason to worry about having too much in there.
