Radiator?

whenever i really got on my car and push it, all my coolant goes into the overflow and then the overflow cap pops off and lets the coolant out and the car over heats! so now i carry water with me every day! i have no idea why it does this? any help is greatly appreciated! it sucks because this is causing me not to be able to take it out to the track! :SNSign:

Oh Ya I Would Replace The Radiator Cap First And See If Thats It Before A Pressure Check.

Don't Know, I Do It Myself You Can Buy A Pressure Tester And Do It Yourself I Believe They Come With Instructions Call Your Local Parts Dealer And Ask Then Call The Radiator Shop Get Prices And Decide The Better Route. Let Me Know Results

Sounds like a head gasket problem to me.

I just had the exact smae problem tonight. I'm guessing the t-stat has gone bad. I just did a head swap and it was overheating at first but I thought it had an air bubble in the system. well, it quit doing it and it was fine till I just drove home. top rad hose was really flexing, overflow tank was full with antifreeze all over the place. I'll let ya know when I change it out tomorrow if the problem continues.

It sounds like one of two things. Either the t-stat is staying closed not allowing the coolant to flow thru the system or the radiator cap is not allowing the system to properly pressurize.

Sounds like a head gasket problem to me.

thats why i would do a pressure check, if the cap replacement don't work. a pressure check will test the head gasket for leaks and test for possible cracks in block or head allowing exhaust into cooling system and blowing fluid into holding tank. after test results you can troubleshoot according to results. also check for oil in water or water in oil, if water is in oil you will have a white foam under your oil cap, if oil is in water it will float on top of fluid when fluid is cold.

well, I checked out mine today and apartently my buddy who was helping put the damn t-stat in backwards. but I was thinking about it today aboutyour problem. if it's not a head gasket, it could be low coolant and it is now vapor locked where there is no water in the intake preventing t-stat to open. dunno if that could be it or not but something to think on.
