ranger w/ rear end questions

I am very interested in the 5.0 swap for the ranger. The 94-95 is prime, or so I found out. It's gotta be a stick. I've searched long and hard and avoided the stang forums until recently and I realize it was one of the best decisions I made. U guys r great. I'm pullin doubles on the boards w/ V8 swaps on the ranger and Tech questions bout the 5.0. But to one of the many questions that will come up: The stock ranger diff I have is a 8.8" 28 spline just like ya'lls it doesn't have a lock and it has 3.08 gears. I have heard that the lock-rite would be a good option for this and affordable. Will this rear end be able to withstand the 5.0. I've searched and the most I have found do not have this ratio. I found the RPM calc from allfordmustangs.com and it works great. The only thing that I can see is w/ the T5 a slower take off. But with the proper amount of beefin up it'll be all good, I hope. Please review and post as U want I wanna know anything ya'l can help me w/. Thans in Advance

The 8.8 will hold up fine, you could probally put in a traction-loc from a mustang. A gear would be a good idea. Hooking up is going to be your biggest issue.
