Rant about my paint guy...

Not to many of you may know or remember my car...But 2 Decembers ago the thing blew up at the track. All the valves bent open and ignited the nitrous/Fuel mixture in my manifold, ultimately making a grenade. It took out the fenders, the engine bay, the hood, windshield, and roof.

Anyways, I have a good friend of mine/and a well respected paint and body man, do the body work. He said he'd paint it in two weeks, I pay him the full amount. Well a YEAR later he still has not done it.

So another friend of mine is out of work. He is also a body man. Says he'll paint it, I pay him half with delivery of car. Two weeks later I go pick it up (2 nights ago). It was at night...mistake number 1. Didnt look too bad, There was polishing compund all over the car So I thought he buffed the hell out of it, Mistake number 2. I back the car in (on the trailer) on the side of the house. Mistake number 3.

I look at it in the morning. Looks like ass. An orange is smoother than this. I call him up, He says he'll fix it. Call him the night he is supposed to fix it...he's too bust for the next week.
I get pissed. Back up my truck (by myself...mistake number 4). The Lightning is really low so I have a 2" raised reciever. I try to follow the shadow (like I have done before) to see when the reciever is under the hitch on the trailer.

BAMM! Mistake number 5, ran the bumper right into the trailer.

So the rest of the evening I am pissed, I wet sand the car and find broken and missing dezus fastners in the hood.

DAM. Thanks for listening. Just needed to rant. On a lighter note after wet sanding all the orange peel came off...Now all I gotta do is buff.:bang:

whats up jeff. i don't know if you remember me but i bought the brackets off you when you went to carb.

that blows about the paint. somtimes it's better just to go out and pay someone who isn't a friend to do the work. cause then they treat you like a paying customer. hope it turns out good.

and for anyone intrested in the parts jeff is selling, he's a stand up guy. he keeped his word thoughout the transactionas and there was no problems. as you can tell he's in cali and i'm in nj, so i didn't know him before i bought the brackets off him.

good luck

joe

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I pride myself in knowing that there are happy ...for lack of a better word...customers of mine out there. Now if I could just sell these parts I have now...You guys will see me in the 10's all motor!
