Today, I had my mechanic remove the MM CC plates and put stock plates back in. I left the current struts (Strange 10 way) in.

Now the rattle in the front end is completely gone.

I guess these MM plates are worn out. Are they worth anything or should I just throw them away?

Yeah, a lot of warranties arent transferred from owner to owner. Always thought that was kind of stupid. If you buy a product thats warrantied for a year, sell it a day later, now the manufacturer wont honor the warranty?? Whats up with that? And its only worst if its a lifetime warranty. The manufacturer says it should last a lifetime but if you sell the car, its voided?:notnice:

since i have stock springs back in there as well (and the lovely 4x4 thing going again), i don't think i'll have alignment issues, but if so, then i'll definately be looking for plates again. i'm buying new this time though

at least i'm not scraping on speed bumps anymore!

Was the rattle something that occured all the time or intermittently? Does it rattle only when you hit bumps or imperfections in the road?

I have a rattle of sorts going on, but I didn't think it was suspension related. I think my rattle has something to do with the aging motor, but since I've got MM CC plates, your problem is something to consider. My rattles only occur when moving and under load, but it doesn't happen all the time or 100% of the time (but it does happen every time I drive somewhere for at least a few seconds at a time now and then). It is noticeable inside the car big time (not super loud). Wish I got to drive my car more often, but that's all I've come up with.

Thanks.

ck your timing and back it down a deg. or two or buy higher octane gas and the pinging should stop

Put them on Ebay!! I've sold things that didn't work on Ebay all the time!!! I honestly stated that the item did not work, not useable etc....people still bought the chit! I couldn't believe it.

I sold a fried electrical ignition box for a Jet ski for 12.50 plus 20 shipping.

I sold a 15" computer monitor that didn't work for 48 dollars plus 20 shipping.

They all left positive feedback and the guy who bought the monitor thanked me in a message because he was able to donate the monitor to the Philipeenes and they were very happy with it......wow....wow....

One mans junk is another mans treasure!

I take it the noise wasn't coming from your struts hitting your hood?

I don't understand how CC plates wear out???

What specifically was worn?

Anybody else confused? Not saying your not correct, just want to understand.
