Ford doesn't give you rear floor mats with the car. That's been an issue for many years. And you can't buy rear floor mats alone. You can only get the rears with the fronts.
My parts guy once told me that people get more upset over floor mats than anything else he sells.
I don't know the answer to your question but it has angered the heck out of me before.
I wish Ford wouldn't even give you a front pair if you can't buy the rears alone. Not one of Ford's better ideas.

My belief as to why Ford only does front floor mats in Mustangs is twofold...
1. Saves money, and 2. Rear seat is rarely used - Ford's concession to the fact that the back seat isn't really big enough for real people - so why have floor mats where no one sits.

Agreed. But why not at least sell the rear mats separately and not force someone to buy another pair of fronts to get them?

My 96 Cobra came with a complete set of 4 mats. For the 2007 I went to the Big K on the way home from the dealer and bought a set of 4 black rubber mats. I had to trim down the rears to fit between the seat rails but they look fine. I've put rubber mats in every car I've owned for the last 20 years, usually right over top of the factory carpeted mats. It really helps keep the factory mats nice in bad weather and near the beach.

That is what I did except I went to Advance Auto Parts the next day. Rubber mats and trimmed the rear to fit just like you.
