I'm looking for a cost-effective (read:cheap) throttle body for my daily driver 331 powered '88 GT.

I don't want chinese made crap if I can avoid it, but I don't have $300 for an accufab either...any suggestions on good TBs at a decent price?

Tks :nice:

65mm explorer TB can be had for real cheap at the JY. it may hold you over until you can afford a larger american made piece......

that or hit the classifieds

i dotn see why everyone is always giving pro products and the like so much hell for. i had a PP throttle body and ran it for about 2 years and had no problems at all.

ive also ran a summit brand TB and it was a nice piece.

+1 on the accufab, been running mine for about 5 years now. bought it used fo $100. check the 'bay, there are still some deals on there.

Never had any issues with my BBK, other than the whistle LOL...

BTW, how do I fix the whistle???

I dont have one myself but from what I read, the BBK TB has an edged corner in or around the IAC area and the turbulent air cuts against the edge and makes the famous whistle. I have a pic of a stocker, take your IAC off and see whats different and dremel it.

I don't know if its true or not, but I heard rumors that the PP 5.0 products were actually made by FRP and were just re-labeled..... like I said, that's just what I've heard from numerous people.... if its true, then I don't see a problem using a PP TB... I have their 70mm TB and EGR Spacer.... paid like $150 for them both new and haven't had a problem with them.
