removing 5th gear from a T-5!

I bought a trans from a guy and liberty removed the fifth gear for racing purposes....to lighten the drag on the trans. i.e. reduce friction. Now I'm wanting to do the same to my spare T-5. has anyone done this before, if so what all do I need to remove.

Not much point , there is so little parasitic loss that it wouldn't be worth the effort. The only reason I would see doing it is to save a few $$$ on the 5th gear assembly.

some peeps say its worth 2 tenths in a Factory Stock car! not sure about it but anything is worth a try. Gain 1 percent hp and use less than 1 percent hp.........over 20 tried tricks.....= lots power bro!
