Removing luggage rack from 1990 LX convertible

Has anyone had good luck with removing the luggage rack and filling the hole in the truck lid? I would have a professional do the job but just wondered how well that works as apposed to butting on a new lid.

It's alot of work,be cheaper to buy a new one.

It's a lot of work to fill the holes (if done correctly) and the results can be hideous later (if not done correctly) the best cost effective method is to buy another lid.

I used a coupe trunk lid. It is the easiest and cleanest way to do it. Just have to drill the holes for the convertible trunk lid mount. Very easy.
