I wanted to remove the running horse emblem from my front grill. I'm going to replace it with the black one, w/flames. Do I need to break the two pins holding it on? The new one has sticky tape only. I was going to reuse, or create new pins to stick it back on with. Thanks.

That's one way to do it but if you look close, there's little push on washers that are actually holding the pins through their alignment holes. You should be able to carefully pull those washers off, then the pony will seperate from the black plastic backing.

Thanks! I'll take a look at it and give that a try.

I hate those stupid friction washers. They go on easy enough but I just cut them with a wire cutter and use new ones when removing.

Black with flames? Sheesh. Why not just throw a huge pin-stripe on the car to go along with it.

I didn't think it would look to bad, being that my car is all black and this would be the most color on it.

I saw this example on here.

Plus, my buddies dad made this design for Ford out of a big chunk of bondo and an airbrush. I remember having the poster version of the photo shoot.

You have to remove the bumper cover, there is (4) screw also.
See my web page about bumper cover replacements you will see
where the grill comes off.

You don't have to remove the bumper cover all.

Here's what I did. Remove the grill and use a grinder to grind those "spikes" from the pony that go thru the black plastic. Then you should just be able to stick the new pony right on.
