Rev Limiter - AODE - I know Search

Yeah guys well I was just talking to a place to dyno my car and they are saying on an AODE that the rev limiter is at 6250. On an AODE isnt it at 5500 or is that the point that the trans is suppose to shift at? With a dyno wouldnt I need my shift points upped?

I have read the ones in the past since I have posted in some of them but I just want to make sure.

Well I don't know exactly what the rev limiter is set at, but I know it's not at 5500. That's just where the transmission's shift point is.

On a sidenote, once you get the car dyno'd I'd love to hear what it puts down, we have nearly the same mods.

On my stock U4P0 binary the *commanded* shift point at WOT is... (don't confused commanded shift vs when it actually does shifting which is much higher in the RPMs based upon your gearing and mods - it takes time to make the shift happen once the tranny is told to do so - during this time your RPM is still climbing)

trans_wot_shift_rpm_(12|23|34)
1-2 @ 4400RPM
2-3 @ 4900RPM
3-4 @ 5000RPM

rev_limit_0_off @ 5550RPM
rev_limit_0_on @ 5800RPM
rev_limit_neutral_0_off @ 5450RPM
rev_limit_neutral_0_on @ 5700RPM

I used the codes in the EEC above for anyone else self tuning that is curious. Also for the self tuners...

The limits above will pull fuel leaving you with spark - not a great thing if you have a non-stock combo. I believe it is possible to pull spark before it pulls fuel with the PIP filter (which stock is set at 6500RPM). See the link below for more info on this if you are so inclined. I have not personally tried this method.

I don't remember the exact rpm.... but it's damn close to 5500. My car came with a chip bypassing the limiter. I thought my computer was bad once, and did a quick swap. I had never experience the limiter before, but I did on that drive! It was extremely sad. :nonono:

Ok well with my car when i a punch it from a 5-10mph roll, it seems like it is banging off the rev limiter really bad...if I dont let go of the gas it really wont shift. this also happens when my AODE downshifts too. Am I right in saying I hit off the rev limiter...all i know when I finish up my nitrous (which will be soon) I am going to need something to straighten that out.
