I started back on the 94 working on the brakes today. I disassembled the
front and rear cobra brakes in preparation of powder coating, rebuilding and replacing seals. Its hard to believe there are some many little parts making up the rears.

Fronts ready for blasting.

While I was at it, I went ahead and rebuilt the 10th anniversary calipers off my old car that I had powder coated a couple months ago.

And finally... I had to try out my new pipe bender with a short pipe. I didn't spend a lot of time on it since I will have to modify it once my torque arm is in anyway. But it will work to bolt on for engine break in.

Pipe bender, I'm jealous. I just spent the weekend piecing together an H pipe out of exhaust pipe pieces from the auto parts store.

I want to have it done, but I'm either waiting on $ to buy parts or tools so its slow moving.

I have been busy on some other things the last week so not much progress on the car.

I did however replace one of the banners I lost in the fire. Put it the exact same spot on the wall as before.

I also started mocking some of my brake stuff back up.

Wire brushed the gas tank and put some paint on it. Installed new gasket and 255 pump.

Got a few things done on the mustang project.

Played with a new hammered powder coat that I wanted to use on the brake lines. I want to be able to drive the car, so no polished lines this time. If I get caught in rain I can just hose the grime off now. I'm going to use this on all my brake lines.

Got my 31 spline Ford Racing T-loc.

Also got four Wazee pullies (alternator, tensioner, ps pump, idler) in. I am powdercoating the alternator black and the tensioner black and when done, will put those pulleys on. In the mean time, I got the new power steering pump painted and pulley on and idler pulley installed.

WOW! Where to begin!?! I just spent, literally, over 2 hours catching up on your entire thread, and I'm sure I didn't catch every thing! Your workmanship is amazing! The attention to detail, leaving literally nothing untouch, the level of commitment and dedication is unmeasurable!

This is the type of build I have in mind for my cobra 40 years from now, and even then, I don't think I will be able to come close to your cobra's level! I anticipate the day I can see your cobra in person at a show or event. Your build is, by far, the best I've ever seen and my favorite!

Just one quick question, when is the magazine front page feature scheduled?

Thanks for the kind words and taking the time to go through my build thread.
It gives me great motivation. I'm not sure about any magazines, I just want to put my best into this car and enjoy it.

I have no progress to report. I took the foxbody to Mustang week and got the opportunity to judge the 79-86 class and I love the four eyed cars. It was a great time.

Should get some things done this week though.

Got some more pieces done on the 94.

Rear Cobra calipers powder coated but still waiting for the rebuild kit to get here before I can put them back together.

Front calipers done

Looks like I'm starting a collection of red calipers

Got all the new parts for the drive shaft and it put together.

Blasted and powder coated gas tank straps

Got my thermostat housing drilled and tapped, and the some other little things done.

I also got the spindles disassembled and will be doing them in the next few days. Started polishing alternator as well.

This is an absolutely amazing thread... I have a 94 GT, and am planning on rebuilding in the spring. But I know nothing I do will ever compare to this. I have been working, and coming back to your thread all day. I am amazed at what trials you have come through. This is an absolutely inspiring story for a young mustang owner like myself. I only hope my ground up rebuild can scratch the surface of this amazing piece you have going. Awe inspiring. Refering an earlier topic, Im also a lucky man. My wife would not let me get rid of my car after finding out we had a 3rd girl on the way. Please keep up the amazing work...

when you are done, everything on the car is going to be essentially better than new. the problem is ... that thing is going to be so pristine and clean that, if it were mine, i'd probably shy away from driving it because it would make it less perfect.

for me, that would defeat the purpose of having it in the first place.

I guess I just look at it as doing what Ford should have done in the first place. The block, rear end and various other stuff have no coating which means even stored in a garage will flash rust. I just pulled a rear end from a 07 GT500 with 3,000 miles on it to strip and powder coat because it was rusty.

I would worry more if I had an all original, collectible car that I was driving around in. But this car is not collectible and if it gets a rock chip or scrap, I know a pretty good paint guy who can fix it

Knocked out the alternator tonight with a teardown, polishing and reassembly with new parts.

Thanks! I media blasted it to begin with, then just start working my way up with sandpaper 100, 220, 400, 600, 1000, 1500 then hit it with jeweler's rouge and a buffing wheel on a die grinder.
