Had 3 hours in polishing. 1 hour in taking it apart and rebuilding the internals putting it back together, but I would have had to do that regardless.

Last might was spent getting my belt squared away. Everything I read said you can't delete smog without a dead pulley. I hate dead pulleys, so I figured out how to get the tensioner to tension. It involved cutting the nub off the back and welding it in another spot, then getting the belt mounted with the alternator against the water neck. the tension is mark is the same as a stock setup. But who knows? This belt may fly in a million pieces when I take this thing down the drag strip.

Good thing it worked because there is no mounting smog here now since I sheared the smog mount off.

Now its time to take it back apart and pull the Vortech off for the 6th time. Hopefully the last time?

It looks like you have as much tension on the belt as I have. I think it will be fine.

More parts done for the 94 project.

Got the spindles done. Drilled the 5/8 hole for my MM Bumpsteer kit which will be here on Tuesday. Powder coated gloss black. I also have new hub assemblies coming.

Went ahead and did another alternator case and will be putting another one together in case I want to switch out the polished one

Also did my rotors, powdercoated the whole thing, then got to use my newest investment to take the powder off where the brake pad contacts. Doing it this way saves me so much time and gets powder on the drilled and slotted part. I actually did 12 rotors at the same time. Here are mine

I like the alternator the way it looks now, might be too much powdercoat up front. It matches the Wazee pulley's great. The coil bracket polished (even though it's steel) would look great on the driver side. Guess its just opinion, I'm a big polished look fan. Looks fantastic though. You have a lathe? Now I really don't like you (or I'm just jealous).

Yeah I would agree with you on the coil bracket. I've been thinking about making up a cover like I had on my old car, polishing it and that would take care of matching up the other side.

Dude! I so want a set of rotors like that. I'm so tired of seeing rust all over my rotors, this looks so good. Will the powdercoat hold up under the high heat? I guess you'll find out.

I got tired of the surface rusting too. I did the set of rotors on my t-top car...drove it 1,400 miles to and from Mustang week, and it was HOT there.
They held up great. I washed them up when I got home and no problems. Still looked new.

No problems so far. My other car braked flawlessly when I did the track event at Mustang week. I pulled everything apart when I got home and the pads were normal. I'm running the Dragon this weekend, so we'll see.

Great post! I have a 94 and i eliminated the smog and the AC and i used the stock tensioner in the stock location and just got a shorter belt and have put about 600 miles on mine since the rebuild. It has worked fine and so far so good, ALTHOUGH the first belt I had on shredded after about 100 miles but that was because apparently there is a washer that goes behind the idler pulley and i didnt put that on and the belt was riding about 1/8 off the edge and it didnt take long to shred it. Thank god for I bought the lifetime belt. "how did this happen" the guy at advanced said? "I dont know, must have been a defective belt" . I can get you pictures and a belt number, looks like your good though! Keep up the great work though.

Thanks! I think that's already started.

Got some more progress done on the 94.

I decided to try for an even slicker finish on the powder coated calipers by using an old paint technique. I scuff sanded the finish.

Then another round of powder coating

Also got my Vortech blower belt on and changed pulleys.

Also got my Maximum motorsports Bolt thru bump steer kit and mocked up. Looks like the drill press did its job because the fit is perfect.

Even though I decided to use the polished alternator, I finished building the gloss black one. Did the pulley in gunmetal powder. Might to a good color scheme for the next engine I build.

Today was vortech tear down. I'm going to be doing a rebuild with an upgrade. I will also be polishing the case to match the alternator. I wont bother to post pics of the process since it pretty simple. I already have all the bearings and seals in, so I should have it done in a couple of weeks.

That's cool, I was going to go up and run the dragon right before my engine blew up last year, but it was closed for a rock slide.

Got the rear end cover powder coated in gunmetal wrinkle.

Got the rear end prepped for building and all my parts in.

By end of day tomorrow, should have a finished bolt in ready rear end

Rear end is finished.

Powdercoated, axle tubes welded, quad shock brackets deleted, Ford Racing 31 spline t-loc, Moser 31 spline axles, Ford Racing 4.10 gear and rebuild kit and fancy but useless rear end cover.

Finished up and ready to bolt in

With the drivetrain squared away, guess its time to move back to body work.
