Just kidding...I have worked on a bunch of em as well, and I will say parts either fit or they don't fit Chevys. With Fords...nothing ever fits without adjusting the crap out of it.

Got the pedal brackets powder coated and new pedals installed. Another small piece done and ready to go back in.

Also after mocking up the strut tower brace, I decided it needed to be powdercoated Black.

I know...I Know...
I needed a break from the body work... You will notice I post several bodywork shots then back to engine or interior or well anything other than sanding.

I know I bust your balls a lot Kevin, but its only because I am like a kid waiting for Santa to come. I feel like your car is going to be a piece of art, and I cant wait to see and observe it. To be honest, I dont have the patience you do to stay focused on such a long term project. I would lose motivation and have to take time off and come back to it again. Thumbs up on the progress, and keep it coming as you can, brother!

on the previous page referring to the headlights for 94-95 if i was to sand off the paint that looks like a bezel around the lights (which u might be able to see in my display pic) would it be red plastic underneath? im afraid to do it cuz i know that if it is not its going to be a pain to remask it. for new white paint. i will be tinting them with some vht night shades

also do you do your own powder coating? or is it outsourced? ive seen some cheap guns on ebay and in the catalogs.

Do you mean Tail lights? If you have 94/95 lights and your white paint is in good shape, just mask off the white bezel and scuff the lenses with a grey scotchbrite pad and some soft scuff sanding gel, then unmask and wash the lights, remask the white and spray your VHT...maybe 3 coats and then 3 coats of spray can clear let dry and unmask. They will look decent.

yeah i did mean my taillights. my bad. my white is flaking pretty bad. ill just bite the bullet and sand em down. then spend a long time masking them and clearing. i've already tinted my rear sidemarker lenses and they are like glass after i wet sanded them.

Sounds good...If the white is flaking,then I would completely strip them of all paint and start fresh.

To get the gap right on the trunk lid the quarter saw a little hammer action. SO now it needs a little more work.

Haha, poor Troy. One poorly worded post that will never be forgotten! Pretty impressive that you took a hammer to that trunk line on the quarter, and the rounding of it is still so smooth. When I take a hammer to something, it turns to junk covered in divets.

I believe the hammer work. My trunk lid and every other trunk lid I have seen on an SN isn't even close.

Yeah, that's exactly the problem. They were never even close from the factory. This trunk saw a the BFH, prybars and other assorted manipulation tools. Its been pulled and stretched and massaged every way possible. I know I put the taillight in 40 times trying to get it all lined out.

To update the thread...My whole focus has been on getting the Recaros finished. I should have some pics up soon. They are close to being acceptable.

Your attention to detail is amazing. My trunk lid must be 3/4" off. It's not even close. I have never looked at it and said, I will get around to fixing that eventually. It has never even crossed my mind.

Yeah...its a snowball effect, once you start correcting and fine tuning...you start to notice things everywhere. I spent countless hours getting the bottom of the trunklid flush with the taillights. If you put a ruler on any sn95...the bottom of the tail light and trunk lid are off 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. Then you got to keep the other side of the taillight flush with the quarter. Its a constant battle.

Headlights fog lights and reflectors are done. I found NOS Ford Cobra headlights and fog lights and reflectors then proceeded to sand them down and smoke them to match my taillights. This way I can have factory fit with a little better finish.
