Rick's a good guy - he's not in the business of ripping people off. Keep in mind, he is a human being with a life too .... especially around the holidays.

Holidays yes, but he's been waiting since March?? That's a little long. Especially since Rick quoted me 6-8 weeks just 8 weeks ago.. So he was saying that if I ordered an engine at the end of September, that I would have it by now?...before 9350coupe, who ordered and paid in March? I hope it's nothing, for everyones sake - but something doesn't feel right here.

Here I just got an e-mail today take a look...was just going to make a post myselfstangonline said:

my computer and hard drive. I was just finally able to get
into my mail account remotly after working with Comcast

recovered by an outside source, right now I am truly
flying blind with no records since it took out my backup
drive as well since I had it hooked up to my computer

cell was on the fritz and it wasn;t transfering any Vm's
to my phone, it showed them empty. My new phone is due in
on Friday, which should solve that issue according to
T-mobile my RAZR phone is the issue.
My wife was a little livid about the kitchen situation
with all the holidays coming up so I had been working on
that the last few weeks and it is just about done. I am
hoping to finally make it back out into the shop this
weekend and start working on all the motors since the
kitchen is all back in working order besides some new
moldings. I have a new computer on the way as well but
right now I am able to recieve mail by dailing in remotely
from work.
I am deeply sorry for all the delays to all my customers,
it certainly was not fair to have to put that work off to
the side but I had no choice since I am a true 1 man show
overseeing all aspects of my business. The pipe breakage
could not have come at any worse time for me since I have
been traveling a lot with work (I am currently sitting in
my hotel in Cinn, OH returning Thursday)
Being so far behind I will have your motor complete ready
for pick-up or delivery before Christmas, I would hate to
promise any sooner and not deliver yet again.

this isnt the first "where is rick" thread i've seen.. and in every case its been a legit reasoning.. Rick hasn't let anyone down, I wouldn't be too worried just yet.

I thought you said your shortblock was done over 2months ago?? If it was, then I really have to question why you don't have the engine yet. That fact, then this additional delay really seems....uh...suspect? Usually, once the shortblock is done, it's a matter of hours to assemble the rest of the motor.
Rick - sorry if you are having difficulty over there. I know things happen, but any reasonable person would agree that there is some reason for concern here. I'll agree in advance that I don't have all of the details so it's impossible to understand the situation - but from the little here - Payment in March, told shortblock was done 6 months later, then 2 months later is promised an engine in about 1 month. You have to admit - that's a long time.

Sorry about your situation dude. Really, I have been there. I have heard all the lame ass excuses a builder has to offer. Bottom line is he fed you another line. No doubt about it. I don't know the guy nor do I want to talk bad about him but hell, I was you 1.5 yrs ago (different builder though). I waited 9 months on my car. My builder told me everything under the sun from "its the machine shop taking so long" to "I had to order a part" to "the parts are on backorder" to "I got the short block done" then a month later "I got your shortblock done" hahaha Like I would have forgot I heard that one before. These guys take on business and then drag their feet or put it off or whatever. I understand things happen, lol, but I have heard it all. And to Rick, again, I don't want to bad mouth you because you have a good rep, well so does my builder, but it does seem suspect to say the least.
