Will installing a rollcage have any affect on your insurace policy? I'm puttin it in either way but i just wanted to know what i was getting into ya know? i know some insureance comapies will throw a fit about tubular k members so i thought i'd ask about having a cage..

I got the 8 point cage from MM if anyone was wondering. thanks.

Not if you don't tell them. LOL The reason they complain about the K-Member is because they don't hold up as well in an accident and can cause the rest of the car to be damged more.

Why are you putting in a cage though?

I'm trying to make the car legal and save for open track events and weekened trips to the road course and autocross. Mainly safety ya know. I know i don't have the fastest car on here but in a few months i will be intsalling turbos.

We have a good road course around here called summit point raceway and they have 3 different tracks but there main one is awsome and i was to try and fun as many classes as i can. plus i really don't wanna roll the car or smack the side of the car into the wall without a cage.

Gotcha.

The only thing is though its not the cage that the insurance company is going to complain about its racing your car. IF the car would get damaged at the track MOST insurance companies won't cover it. I know mine said if some crazy thing happened to my car at the drag strip that its not covered.

what they dont know wont hurt them :D

Untill you wreck at the track. LOL

I had a close one one day and almost hit the wall comming off the line. There was a church meet at the track and fu**ing Minivans were racing and drove through the water box dragging water all over the track. I launched and went sideways and hit the brakes before hitting the wall. LOL I got out and told the track officals to tell the slow car to quit running through the water box or dry the after each one passes before someone got hurt. You could actually see water at the line.

Yeah hopefully i wont wreck at the track.. but if i do then it's my fault and i wouldn't care about buying new parts. I was just wondering what the insurance company would say about it if i got in a wreck on the way to work ya know.. oh well it's gonna look good and keep me safe(r):nice:
