Roof Skin Swap!! The restoration begins (Pictures)

  • Sponsors (?)

So had a good work day on the car. I got the engine out with help with my friends. I also pushed out the car and did some cleaning. The one picture is my attic with all of the parts in it. I have the seats in my room to keep the rodents out. Tomorrow after work I'm planning on removing the windshield, quarter panels, and start on the dash. I want to clean up my wire harness and use wire meshing. there's also some rust on the shock tower supports that I want to replace. Hopefully I can start messing with the roof replacement on Monday.

That looks like a .357 Sig round. About the only agency I know of that issues those are the Air Marshalls. Of course, it most likely came from a citizen owner. A lot less powerful round then the .357 Magnum, but it is a quick little round.

Off topic.....I know.

So I haven't made an update in awhile so here is what I have been doing. I took out the wire harness, dash, and I took off the roof skin today within 3 hours. Taking off the roof from the car was a piece of cake. Now I am going to clean the surface under the old roof and paint it with rustoleum brush paint. I also have some nasty floor pan rust holes the size of my fist so I'm going to buy some new floor pans and weld them in. Let me know what you think!
