I just purchased an 88 gt with a 5 speed. I plan on tearing down mostly the whole car and rebuilding it but i just have a few questions. My friend is building up his 95 but making it a turbo car, I'd rather use a supercharger and i know hes in the area of 700rwhp. I'd like to make something somewhat close to stay competitive. What combinations running a supercharger will get me there? i understand its going to cost alot of money tranny work and everything thats prefectly fine. i just want to know a good combination to keep me competitive. and also i really dont want to put a slick in the car so what is the biggest tire that i would be able to fit? any input would be greatly appreciated thanks

700rwhp?
And Turbo?
Doubt it, Highly
If John Force was Towing him down the track, Maybe!

If money is no object, buy a good short block and go from there.
Combinations are very objective, but the usual, heads, cams, lifters, valve job, intake, supercharger cooler, exaust, strange rear end, lenco trans, and so on and so on and so on.
Your asking a bit more then can really be answered in one or two posts.

I have 10" rims on the back of mine, i have seen up to 14, with the right back space, but then you almost need to get a wide body kit to keep them under the fenders.
Next step up, is Tubs.

Unless you plan on spending 6 grand on a shortblock only, i'd give up on the 700hp chase.
700hp takes 20 grand and up worth of parts to make run correctly and reliable.
Figure your engine with heads and intake is going to cost 10 grand, another 5000 worth of a power adder setup, then the trans and the misc stuff.

Since your a rookie the first thing you need to know is that anything above 450-500rwhp requires a race block, which Costs $1700 and that's with nothing, no pistons, rods, crank or machine work.

As 2000xp8 said the Stock Block is not rated for more than 500 HP at the Fly so going over that will require say a Dart, Boss or any Block that can handle that type of power. For you to be laying down 700 RWHP the Engine HP woul be like say 785 and above i would guess. Windage tray nice Forged internals to stay on the safe side and the list can go one.

But if money aint an option then Buy a Dart Short Block and Build a solid H/C/I from there with a Real good Tranny and with that type of Power man go with slicks on the Strip. Make sure and beef up all the Rear End and Suspension as well, Stock things can start breaking at that power level. and For GOD's sake and yours a Good ROLL CAGE.

Be safe i would advise you to start off a little less HP to get the feel of things. Im Pushing 250/280 RWHP with my Stock 5.0 302 with 100 Shot of Nitrous and some other MODS and also have a supercharged 306 Saleen with 450RWHP and trust me they are all fun cars to drive and at first it took some skill to step from Nitrous to Supercharged / NOS comes in and Charger is always there. Good Luck Man

I have a 1989 mustang gt and the hazard lights and the turn signals both dont work. However I had a guy try and fix it and pulled the switch it self away from the wired and the wires pulled out of the connector I need someone to please send me a diagram of where and how it goes back together. Please Thanx.
