rotating maf

it will either work great or will not work @ all.
i had an 01 GT it worked with & my 02 it does nothing.

best way to tell is run the very lowest octane gas you can run & get very little or no ping...........then rotate maf if you ping worse after rotating you are running leaner.........therefore you have gained power.
then put in some new high octane gas to get up to level with no ping.

This mod will only make a difference if you have a cold air intake that goes into the fender. The reasoning is that the air coming in has to make a serious bend before it enters the MAF and the air is metered incorrectly. So if you turn the MAF 90 deg it will cause the reading to go leaner than before.

I did the mod and dyno'd it. At peak it was 10hp but in other areas on the graph it was a lot more.

10 hp? what was ur baseline? that seems like alot. i had a cold air but i took it off cuz i heard it was gonna make me run rich  now im debating on putting it back on. i have an open element under the hood right now. should i go back to cold air with darkwolf i guess?

The darkwolf mod made a huge difference for me. I wrote several very lengthy threads on my results. Do a search and hopefully you can find the info. You might do a search on my name if you are not finding any results. I got rid of my POS MAC CAI and got a K&N FIPK Gen II and like it much better.

I took my car to have it dyno'd and the CAI and the 90 turned MAF were already in place. The shop was curious so the put the MAF back to the original place and after a long cool down period they dyno'd it again and the HP dropped 10+ and the A/F became much richer.

Here are the results:

i tried all 4 positions (yes upside down also).
what worked best for my 01 was 1/4 turn toward passenger fender well. this means the maf electronics is aiming @ passenger fender instead of up.

hey cob.....did it start pinging in 3rd gear under wide open throttle?

Just so I'm clear...the concensus is to rotate the MAF 90* toward the pasenger side fender wall. Is that where you had yours for the Dyno Runs SilverBullit?
If this creates a lien condition, would I benefit from bigger injectors to off-set?

Currenly I have MAC:Shifter, Cold-Air, 70mmTB and 2.5in. Cat-Back arives Monday.
Thanks!

Ok...I tried it. Now I'm noticing a slight hesitation when I initially get on the gas and a loud sucking sound...is that normal?
