I gotta buddy that has a Rousch 360R. He told me that the Longblock is identical to mine in my 03 stock block GT. He said of course the only diffrence is the blower. Is this True? If so how hard would it be to come across the kit they put on those. If its same block it makes me feel much better bout puttin a blower on my car knowin that as long as everythin is done properly there shouldn't be any problems.

It's a roots type blower and from roush it's pricey. For the money you're better off going with the Steeda kit or most people seem to love there Cobra Killer mongoose kit which has Steeda's tuning. The 360R I think puts out 360 hp. There are guys on here with the Mongoose kit pushing that with the base kit and over 400 with the upgrade. If I get a blower that's who I would go with.

roush takes a regular old gt (or v6 even i think) and just adds on crap- blower, rims, bodykit, exhaust, suspension stuff, etc. so basically it is just a GT on steroids. check www.fnsweet.com (roush forum)

Yes along with upgraded fuel components and computer tuning. If you want to get a roots type blower, I would go with the K/B....

I agree about the Kenne Bell. It's a superior design. And while it IS a positive displacement type blower like a roots, it's actually a twin scre design. The rotors of te twin screw blower don't actually rub eachother like the roots do. This lowered friction level means less intake temperature increase for an equal amount of boost when compared to a roots style.

That is why you see so many 2nd Gen Lightning and '03 Cobra owners doing the swap, not increasing boost or potential harm to their motor, and seeig SERIOUS power increases.

However, when selecting a blower, keep in mind that different types behave in different ways. A positive displacement supercharger reaches max boost very quickly (at low rpm) but is not as efficient at high rpm as a centrifugal. PD blowers tend to begin loosing boost pressure as the rpm goes over 4k +. The centrifugals NEED rpm to creat boost and are generally softer on the bottom with a high rpm swell in power.

General rule: Street, cruising? Use a PD
Drag racing, etc: Use a centrifugal

But, to each his own, I just thought I'd give a little help if any was needed.

Ian

GET THE 9LB KIT WITH THE INTERCOOLER.

They put one on a Bullitt in one of the mags and got some pretty good numbers.

Why do people go around saying that the KB (or twin screws in general) best application is for "street" and that centrifugals are for "drag racing"? It blows me every time a read such statements.

As far as I know, winning drag races is all about having the most area under the power curve, regardless of peak hp numbers, and having good driving skills. IMO, that combo is unbeatable...comparing apples to apples, if you know what I mean. Let's us say that you have a twin screw and a centrifugal set at 11 psi. The centrifugal will never have 11 psi until the top of the rpm band. Whereas, the twin screw will have it all the way from around 2000 rpm to the top of the rpm band. So, having said that, why is the centrifugal better for "drag racing"? And please, show me the facts!!

Roush 360r and 380r is rwhp.
And No they are not crap.
People that cant afford them say that. You get alot more than just bolt
ons when owning a real Roush or Saleen. (Collectors Item & Value)
Its what you will not have when modding a GT.

That would be a Roush stage III 380R or the roush classic 380R.
My dealer sells Roush and Saleen and he said the Roush 380R
would eat up a Saleen s/c.

Although Roush products are high quality, I did not get their s/c kit for my Stage II Roush because it was a bit too expensive. They asked me for $7895. I'm glad I went for the KB S/C kit.

thanks for all the info fellas I'm also leanin toward a KB possibly in the future I wanna get a lil more miles than 3g's on my car first though. I was just surprised that Roush used the same longblock espeically since there supposedly "crap" If there buildin them from the factory with blowers like that then there obviously dependable enough to where they wont be replacin motors every day. I guess its all in the tune and extras
