Royal Purple rear-end gear lube users...

Good find.:nice:

Have to take the time to really read it all but, working in the lubricants industry I can tell you thats about what I would expect for results of the study. Royal Purple is not your friend. :nonono:

Hmm I have been using RP for the past 53,000 miles...and no problems  . Not to mention ALOT of passes at the track. Oh well, ill be pulling the 3.73s out in the next week or 2 and throwing back in my stock 3.27s, so ill just refill with Amsoil :D
Im curious as to how my gears look. If they look fine then we can just ignor the test results. But I can tell you that I would NEVER run RP in my engine...dont like the idea of purple in my motor. Gears are fine, but im just very picky about my motor.
Also run RP in my tranny...and thats holding up fine as well LOL.

Interesting, I noticed the footer on the bottom of page one that said Amsoil Drivetrain Division; Amsoil INC. Kinda funny how Amsoil ended up #1. Though it looks pretty in depth and I'm sure Amsoil is really good; personally I like Mobil 1 better than anything; I wonder how bias a study can be that is testing competitors including itself on how well its product perform

I think there is always room to sway something in your favor when your the one doing the study/testing. If they came out with results that showed them lagging behind in some way, it wouldn't be a very good marketing tool. I have little doubt they have quality products but I think Mobil 1 products are probably your best bet for the money. A formulation chemist I used to work with has had both Royal Purple and Mobil 1 engine oils broken down in the lab. Mobil 1 is the real deal. RP just markets themselves as wonderful...thats about it. Not only that, the list of cars with Mobil 1 as factory fill keeps growing.

True, but they included copies of the signed affidavits from the independent test group. Regardless of that, I wasn't posting it to show how good Amsoil was as much as I was posting it to show how crappy RP is! :D
