Royal Purple...WOW!!

Its like washing a filthy car and waxing it afterwards. Looks worlds better after the wash, with a small improvement for the wax.

you must not be waxing right. i guess if youre just hand applying some pep-boys special then yeah, its just a small improvement. do a real wax (porter cable, different pads, wash, claybar, polish, seal, natty's blue)

For what it's worth.. I've used RP since I've gotten my mustang. I've never had any engine noise.

+1. i used RP on my 97 GST, my 02 GT and now on my 91 GSX. RP got rid of the lifter tick on my GST and GSX. i felt a noticeable difference in response from the GT when i replaced all the fluids and filters i could get my hands on. i believe it was mostly due to swapping the tranny and rear fluid thusly reducing drivetrain drag by some small percentage but overall helping out. RP may cost more, and people talk ****, but i like it and will continue to use it.

RP can claim all they want for being "ELITE" they need to prove it don't state as compared to brand -X over here. I would never complain about how much it cost for oil for my car. Think about it. Sure I run Amsoil $7 buck a quart so what so I spend an extra $12 on an oil change to get proven performance and stabilty, is it worth $12 you bet. To say Amsoil is too expensive to run is like saying my girlfriend ain't worth no Double D job. Sure it cost more but the pleasure is worrth it.

I personally would never use RP ( Really Pricy) oil. I will always be loyal to Amsoil. Amsoil actually list it competetors names in which it did test comparisons against calling them to the challenge of proving them wrong. go to this link to see what I am talking about http://www.amsoil.com/products/atm_testing/index_flash.aspx

If RP is such a great product why do they not name the other oil companies that they do there testing against. They make a claim to fame but don't back it up. see there vauge test report here http://www.royalpurple.com/techrp/summary.html

Lets see what I start with this one.:) [/URL]

+1 from an Amsoil prefered customer. Can't wait to get my intake in so I can get this thing all back togther and refresh her with all Amsoil products.

great place to order Amsoil and Mothers products

I replaced my tranny fluid with Royal Purple about a month ago and its like butter now. less noise, shifts so much better, and got rid of the occassional grind on the 1-2 shift. Probably just because i needed to change the fluids anyways, but it worked for me and im leavin it in there.

Ive been running the regular Motorcraft synthetic blend since My Mach calls for 5w 20 ( I think) & I couldnt find Mobil 1 in that weight at any of the local ( Sacramento) parts stores. Where are you guys running Mobil 1 finding it?

i've used RP in my rearend with no ill effect. But otherwise, mobil 1 all the way in all my cars.
I do think i'll get water wetter when I change my coolant this year (thats if I don't trade my car this year - i'm still thinkng about that)

Mobil 1 is a great product. It is an actual true synthetic. There are a lot out there that are called synthetic but are not really. They just hydrocrack regular oil but since they have altered the oil from it's natural state the courts have allowed them to call it synthetic, many still have paraphins in them. We did a course on lubricants and Mobil 1 came out with the best ratings. It was totally impartial course put on by an equipment manufacturer to see what held up the best in real world application. Lets just say Royal Purple didn't do so well.

I agree. Royal purple has some sh1tty ratings. I've heard many complaints too. People getting lifter ticks and engine noises :nonono: . This stuff looses its viscosity quickly and thins out. I use mobil 1 only in my car. Amsoil is great too, but too expensive for my taste.

Royal Purple is a RACE OIL, it this out and you make more power at the cost of wear... that is why you dont run their engine oil... i have royal purple in my diff and its doing great, i plan on putting Royal Purple in the trans soon too... on the other hand, i run Mobil1 Synthetic in my engine... ive done enough research to justify spending that much on oil at www.bobtheoilguy.com or whatever it is now lol...

pretty much Castrol Syntec = Synthetic blend, Mobil1 is the "Cheapest" true synthetic and Amsoil is the best... supposedly Redline and Royal purple are rated in between Mobil1 and Amsoil but i consider them both to be race fluids.
