I don't drive my 'stang very often, but when I just can't hold out any longer and must partake of the joy that is Mustang ownership, it's to work and back. It's a 70 mile round trip with 30% stop and go and 70% highway. I noticed tonight that it was turning about 1,800 @ 70mph (with stock 3.27's) and made me think, "wonder what it would be turning with 3.73's out back"? I'm thinking about 2 things here. 1) Will my gas mileage suffer very much and 2) will the engine be at an rpm @ 70 mph that will drone in my ear much like my '93 GT with flowmasters did.

I'm sure it's been covered and a thorough search would net me my answer, but crap on that, I'm trying to do this AND watch the Georgia/Georgia Tech game.:D

Oh, I have a 5-speed if you didn't notice it in my sig. Thanks!

Ive never paid attention to my rpm's and I have a auto and 4:10's :rlaugh: I dont think gas milage will be a problem for you. The exhaust shouldnt be bad either, unless you have a off road and SLP exhaust. Oh yea whos leading in the game, I havent seen a TV since lunch today, damn computer.:rlaugh:

It's tied 7-7 with about 6 minutes remaining in the 4th. I'm for GT since the dogs beat our a$$es again this year, but then again who didn't beat us. (UT Vols that is :bang: )

Make that 14-7 with Georgia on top.

Well now, thanks registered, that's about the neatest thing I've seen today. Thanks!!

I have 3.73's with LT's O/R prochamber and flowpaths and I drive 2 hr round trip every day. My advice would be to do the gears. I didn't notice any mpg difference, maybe my setup doesn't drone but nothing in the exhaust dept bother's me on the trip. I usually cruise between 80 and 90 mph, with no problems.
Get the gears.:nice:

I also have 3.73's. I have a Magnaflow catback. At 70mph the engine is tacking less than 2200 rpm's. However, I did loose about 2.5 mile per gallon. Some of that could be in my X-cal tune. I don't have any drone with my set up. Pearl02.
