Lingenfelter 383 C5 Corvette. No didn't run him with my GT.
I was at my Dad's house when his neighbor met us out in the driveway. He asked:
Him, "Is this your car?"
Me, "Why yes it is."
Him, "I had one of these when I was a teenager."
I look over and see a black Vette with gorgeous black wheels, fatty tires, black tinted windows, lowered and all that. He later tells me it just came back from Lingenfelter's shop. I ask if he wants to run it. He says it won't be close.
In a nut shell.
Race 1-From 20MPH roll I take him by two car lengths and pulling away but at 120MPH he reel's me in very quickly. Race 2-From 40MPH I get him again by a car length and start pulling but again 120MPH I'm toast.
Race 3-From a dead stop, I destroy him out of the hole and I'm way ahead at 120 MPH he's reeling me in but by the time he catches me we're moving way too fast for the street.
We meet up at the gas station. We talk for a bit. I ask how much he had into his car and after awhile he admits close to $100,000. I say "My $10,000 car did pretty well against your $100,000 car." This line didn't fair well with him and I never saw him again.
So what car was it? Here it is. Look below.
Yep, a 6 cylinder.

I remember BSin with you about my Uncle's before. I STILL want one so god damn bad. SO fast, SO under the radar, and it has a full size couch in the back. I guess I don't really consider it a super car cause I'm so used to it, but my Uncle Brad has a 1987 Grand National GNX that consistently flirts with breaking into the 10s.
