Lingenfelter 383 C5 Corvette. No didn't run him with my GT.

I was at my Dad's house when his neighbor met us out in the driveway. He asked:
Him, "Is this your car?"
Me, "Why yes it is."
Him, "I had one of these when I was a teenager."

I look over and see a black Vette with gorgeous black wheels, fatty tires, black tinted windows, lowered and all that. He later tells me it just came back from Lingenfelter's shop. I ask if he wants to run it. He says it won't be close.

In a nut shell.
Race 1-From 20MPH roll I take him by two car lengths and pulling away but at 120MPH he reel's me in very quickly. Race 2-From 40MPH I get him again by a car length and start pulling but again 120MPH I'm toast.
Race 3-From a dead stop, I destroy him out of the hole and I'm way ahead at 120 MPH he's reeling me in but by the time he catches me we're moving way too fast for the street.

We meet up at the gas station. We talk for a bit. I ask how much he had into his car and after awhile he admits close to $100,000. I say "My $10,000 car did pretty well against your $100,000 car." This line didn't fair well with him and I never saw him again.

So what car was it? Here it is. Look below.

Yep, a 6 cylinder.

well it wasnt in my car and i wasnt even driving. It was in my uncles 03 M5 and OH man can this car haul ass. we were cruising around at around 85 mph on the highway when an E55 AMG blows past us. So my uncle catches up fairly quickly. both cars were at about 110 and we just floored it. It was pretty even the whole way till the bimmer hit the speed governer. we must have been at around 150 or so, i didnt really take my eyes off the road. both cars slowed down, gave each other a nod and went our ways. this was the fastest ive ever been in a car and man did the m5 feel rock solid. if only my car felt the same

Oh man I knew it was gonna be the GN! I remember BSin with you about my Uncle's before. I STILL want one so god damn bad. SO fast, SO under the radar, and it has a full size couch in the back. I guess I don't really consider it a super car cause I'm so used to it, but my Uncle Brad has a 1987 Grand National GNX that consistently flirts with breaking into the 10s.

And you know they're bad azz cause Buick only sold them in black. Guess I'm pickin up a new copy of the want ads on the way home...

The only expensive cars I have ever raced were a few vipers. Other than that I dont run into too many others

I lived in El Cajon, CA for a couple years (suburb of San Diego). They had this little car show every Wed. night where a bunch of people would get together. I saw a hooked up 80's Porche 911 down there that had a 5.0 HO out of a 93 GT sitting in the back of it. I would consider that a 5.0 run in with a supercar

Probably because the rebuild kit alone for the original motor is like $5,000+
Parts for those cars are rediculous. I used to work with a guy that was really into Porches.

not really a supercar, but in our local scene there's this zinc yellow 04 cobra that rolls around with a lot of stuff done to it. i've seen the dyno sheets that say he put down 620rwhp, and that was BEFORE he put in his 2.4liter kenne belle.

anyways, we both arrived at a stoplight and i ask him how his cars runnin he replies "ah, so-so, still aint tuned right though" i say oh, cool. so the light turns green and we casually stroll out of what i call the '' no traction zone" (0mph-15mph)
and then i punch it, then he gets on it, pulling me a decent amount but i'm still hanging so i thinking "alright, my car can hold it's own".........then he floors it (at least i think he did) and made it seem like i was going in reverse. i laughed my ass of and just shook my head
