Hey guys, Happy New Year.

I have a BBK Cold Air Intake currently installed in my 2000 GT. I know it does nothing for power and the reason why I have it on is because I like the way it looks under the hood. Bling Bling. My question to you is - Is it possible to attach a K&N Filter right at the MAF meter & eliminate that 90 degree bend that goes into the fenderwell. I think the bend is restricting my air flow. I think I'll gain a few horses if I have an open filter attached right to my MAF meter & not hidden in the fenderwell. Wouldn't I need an adapter. Where can I get one? Thanks.

I thought about doing that but you probably won't gain much as you'll be sucking in hot air. If you wanna try it, just jerry rig one with some electrical tape

That is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Thank you so much. What size is the stock MAF meter on the 99+ Mustangs? What size filter will fit?

Has anyone done this to their Mustang? How are the results compared to a cold-air intake?

The website shows the adapter for a lightning. Is it the same for the Mustang GT? Will a 9 in. K&N Filter with a 3 3/4 in. opening fit?

Anyone knows the part no. for the K&N filter that will fit with the adapter. I'm guessing it is a universal filter.

...or just get a Pro-M 80 with a UPR Bigmouth filter. It's made for it.

I think I'll just stick with the K&N. K&N filters are the best in the market.

These filters are the samething, only it has a cone shaped opening at the end. When you go to the track you remove your front headlight and get a little extra burst of air.

So is doing this as mentioned a good advantage for the engine even though it sucking hot engine air instead of cold air outside the engine bay? I think the cold-air kit has too many bends and turns.

I live in FL, there is no cold air, but bends are not good, I and many others run open a filter under the hood daily. I do it now and did it in my 93 LX

Does K&N make filters with an opening end? The opening end is supposed to smooth out airflow and allow more air into the intake system.

Sure the Steeda piece is nice. I'd rather save some money and go with UPR though. But the filter Steeda sells does not match up to a Pro-M without some type of adapter plate.
