I'm not understand the how... just got this set of them from ebay. I think they are duraflex, not fiberglass but polypropaline or whatever. it's about $126 and $50 shipping for the set. I would think they would have a thought out a better way to mount them for this price, or at least A WAY...

There is basically nothing I can think of. these are rubber and thick to the point where there is no room in between them and the metal to attach anything.

My only thought is to drill holes, use screws, and fill the holes after.

the real saleen side scoops you have to remove the interior trim in the back seat and they bolt in that way (a giant PITA). I'm not sure if the aftermarket is the same way though.

Typically ricey **** like that is held on with double sided tape.

how are saleen side scoops ricey? compared to what, the stupid ghey ass fake vents that come on the car from ford

Anyway, I had saleen scoops on my old GT and they held in place by 3M double-sided adhesive. Looked just like a stock saleen and they were securely fastened.

I.M.O., Ford should have stuck w/the small side scoops on the 94-98's, the 99-04 are just gawdy, plus they are kinda ricey, after a while they stretch and start to make noise at a certain speed.

I do agree they got a little big, but I haven't noticed mine stretching or noise.

The stock ones just clip right in after a while the scoops start to loosen, those things can't be too aerodynamic.

Yeah aerodynamics are key on my street car that will never see 200mph+ where it might matter

I bet you would be amazed what would affect the aerodynamics on these cars, if riding w/the windows effects the gas mileage why wouldn't these large side scoops. Constant 70 mph driving, aerodynamics matter, trust me. If I can find a delete kit, I'm getting rid of mine.

yeah I'd have to take pics. they aren't what I expected at all. they are solid rubber and basically fit right into the contour of the opening.

I wouldn't trust tape cuz they are quite heavy. also I have to push the top and bottom in a little so I'm sure the tape would pulled right off from that pressure.

btw there is no mounting hardware at all so I have to figure a way to put screws into them in order to have anything to fasten.

I knew it would be a PITA but I think it will look good in the long run.

I got the exact same product. They were essentially purely rubber and I could not understand how they could possibly absorb a good coat of paint and adhere to the car.....but once painted, they become as rigid as your current side scoops. It is the same product that Saleen uses on their cars. Also, you're underestimating 3M's duoble sided "tape". YOU DONT NEED SCREWS.....if all Saleen cars have the same setup, then you can do it too.

perhaps. I guess worse case I can always try something else if the tape doesn't work. unless they become roadway scenery.
