Carlsbad State beach has camping. It's just North of where the BBQ was. All those trees lining the Coast Hwy just North of Ponto, that's the camping area. Check out www.reserveamerica.com for openings. Since the weather has been pretty damn nice lately they may be filled up. We always get spots (camp sites) by calling a few times a day to see if there have been any cancelations. Also, you can drive up to Big Bear and stay at the Honey Bear Lodge. Kickass little place. My former gf and I stayed there twice. One time our room had a hot tub in it.
That was about 75 a night? The next time, our room was cheaper, but had a loft, which was cool. The room w/ the loft, you can see the lake, and all the pine tree tops, which is a beautiful site. We also stayed during the week, and I think the prices are a bit cheaper w/ that. Only bad part is the drive. kinda long if you 2 are going to be up late. Fun drive though
www.honeybearlodge.com There's possibly a place in Alpine too. Julian would be nicer IMO, just a dark and kinda dangerous drive late at night.
chekc your PMs too....
