SC should spin freely without oil in it correct?

My buddy (has a 95lt1) just picked up a paxton 6lb blower. He got it used, and it is one hard mofo to spin. I remember my S trim was pretty easy to spin. His SC is one of the self contained ones, but it should still spin without taking to much force right? It is empty of oil though.

I just wanna see what you guys think before i start making him worry lol.

Kinda OT, but you should see the crappy settup this thing has. The pipe coming out of the blower (to the tbody) actually touchs the header. I cant imagine a worse settup. That combined with the self contained oil, is gonna make some VERY hot air.

My only experience is with a procharger and the three I have had a hand in have all spun freely with just your hand. And one was even a D-1X.

nope, very hard to spin. I have a sn93, and the spec is 45ftlbs. of torque to spin the pulley. Hope this helps.

What exactly do you mean? You gotta torque the belt to 45ft/lb's, or it actually takes 45lb's to spin it? Cause thats alot of force, i cant see how thats gonna make more power then its gonna eat up

Thanks for the other replies.

that's what i'm saying. On superchargerhelp.com there's an sn93 section, and i asked people that bought it brand new. That's the info they gave me, it does take a good amount of force by hand to spin it though, it is really tuff. I hope my crank holds up for me.
