9.0, 9.1 1/8 mile time are like low 14 second passes. Thats how i was coming up with 14.1. Why are we still argueing this. npi heads without porting and cams are not going to run with a bolt on p.i. gt. Once you p.i swap a npi car then not only does that give you the same top end of the newer cars but also puts you in front of them in stock form because of the bump in compression.

To the OP a head swap is up to you and what your goals are with the car. I personally love all motor cars and would do the headswap cams long tubes but that me

I really have to disagree with you. I've beaten MANY PI cars in my NPI. I ran 14.26 at the track with nothing more than an offroad H pipe, which according to you is about the best a stock PI car can do (yes, paper filter, all season tires, ect). My car also ran 14.6 bone stock, before I learned to drive it well. The truth is, the difference between a PI and NPI car is only 45hp, and that can come down to a drivers race and how well each car is maintained.

I completely believe that a stock PI car will go high 13s. It isn't a strech at all, but it requires a good DA. DA plays a huge factor. Here, we typically see a DA around 2000-3000 if the weather is REALLY really nice, like spring and fall... so low 14s are typical for a stock PI with a good driver. Go to a track at sea level in the spring or fall, and 13s would be easy.
