Hey y'all,

The passenger seatbelt in my car has seen better days. It doesn't want to retract anymore and it never locks up, which leads me to believe it could be a real hazard in the event of an accident. I looked into the price of OEM replacements and they're the same price as most 3-point harnesses. I would like to get the retractable harness from Corbeau, but have some mounting questions. How do I go about mounting that in the back? I'm not sure what's involved, and hoping someone out there has done this. Thanks!

mine does the same thing. When i lean forward, and sit back, the seatbelt just goes limp and doesn't retract. I don't know any info on this, so i guess we need to find someone that does.

Yeah my seatbelts are abouth worthless. And I have the bonus of having hatchback seats in my vert. For some reason the guy before me sold the leather seats, and bought a red and blue hatch seat and covered them with a cheap seatcover.

Well we can always try google man's links lol

Aint it funny how sometimes they are related and other times not?

You want to know if they lock up in a crash? Go to a deserted area and slam on the brakes hard. You dont have to lock them, just stop real fast. When your body starts to move forward so does the locking mechanism. You will feel them restrain you. Inertia activates the lock that keeps you from moving around, the belt needs to be tight at the time of impact of course. Opening my door makes the belt retract much better for some reason, try that.

Ok, just because they are limp/ wont retract dont mean they wont lock in a crash. I have read, and it makes total sense to me that the old ones get dried from the sun and age so that they are stiff. The new ones are soft to the touch, they wont cut through your body as easily in a violent crash. So new belts (the nylon part) seem like a good plan. I just dont wear them unless I am on the Hwy. My fiance got an 04 V6 stang, and I wear it in that, it dings until you put it on

Yeah, the driver's seatbelt locks up all the time, but the passenger one doesn't. My girlfriend complains about it constantly (I suppose she has reason to!). I have aftermarket seats that would allow for harness style, so that's what I want. Just need to know how to mount them. I'm interested in the Corbeau retractable harness.

you don't want to put harnesses in unless you have a cage. If you roll the car wearing a harness there's no where for you to go but get crushed when the roof caves. Personally, i'd be junk yard searching. You can sometimes find them on ebay. There are places to get new ones (50resto) but they are VERY pricey.

I upgraded my 87 seatbelts to a black 90-93 set. I pulled the release pin inside the door because unlike the original seatbelts, these don't have a cable to hook up to that pin. I'm not sure how the seatbelts trigger in the 90-93 foxbodies so I'm at a loss with how to get these to work.

I put SN 95 belts in mine,... had to mod the bracket alittle. fit good and the female side of the belt looks sooo much better and up 2 date. I have a rollbar now, so there is a 5 point system in it's place.
