Since I had these on the camera, figured I would start a thread for you or I to post pictures and progress of your Twin turbo build up, as it comes along..
SeriousSN95 came to me previously to modifiy a twin turbo setup he had purchased..
It turned out the setup he purchased was a low mount setup for a fox, obviously without a swaybar or many accesories. So what I am doing is modifiying and working with what he brought..Which is basically starting from scratch using piping, flanges, and turbos from this kit.

To do list:

-Cold side pipe work ( welding/cutting/fitting)
-Repair radiator leak
-Weld 02 bungs on downpipes ( pick up bungs)
-Cut/reweld compressor inlet flanges
-Tap oil pan
-Tie back clutch cable/ p/s drain line/any wiring
-Pick up can of black high temp paint
-Pick up 9/16" bolts/nuts for turbo mounting ( 8 of these)
-Remove a/c system completly ( purchase the removale tools)
-Install feed/drain lines and fittings..

And as I remember the remaining to do's I'll add them..

I believe they are the smaller T3's w/ .48 a/r housings. It's difficult to really tell the difference, since there are a couple different trim's on these.. I'm sure they will be good to 600 flywheel or a little more.

BTW, he supplied most everything we are using..Most of the piping and parts came from a kit he bought ( for a low mount fox setup) So we are cutting and hacking up the old pipes and starting from scratch.. Basic flipped stock shorties 2.5" pipe to turbo, into a 1/2" T3 flange, and downpipes will be 2.5" for ease of install, plug access, ect. I believe he is shooting for 450-500rwhp through a 5 speed. Other items he has to use are a single 50mm gate, RFL blow off, 42lb injectors and C&L meter in blow through.. All 3" Aluminium piping to intercooler and a nice 28x12x3" front mounted intercooler.

It's coming together

arent you worried about the heat soak from the shortie headers? they werent designed for that amount of heat which is why i have not been a fan of the home made turbo kits. ive read a lot about them and they are great if you use your car once and a while but if its anywhere near a daily driver it seems as if the heat kills parts in your engine bay making a fast car break down and sit still.... My mac unequal length shorties heat my na engine bay enough as it is.

hey man bottom line, wrap those things if its the least you can do. better yet get them jet-hot coated. i have zero experience with turbos but i have researched them deeply and i know you know this already but heat is a killer-protect your sick car and get back in the magazines!
keep us posted,
im not hating on your work, i am just curious on what you are doing to take care of the heat.

Well fawcett as YOU wrote "i have ZERO experience with turbos"...... enough said. Just because i read a book on flying an airplane DOESNT mean im a licensed AIRPLANE PILOT. I appreciate the opinons but mikes been doing this for quite a bit of time.. i thinks he knows what hes doing. o yeah i believe mike was in 5.0 and Fast fords... did i see your car in the mag???????????

hey i was being honest. but you tell me how many guys on here have turbo related drivability issues? I have read about lots of people having leaks and damages due to the heat. if its track only then whatever, its not like it needs to be dependable.

ask Green, he has worked his ass off -done unbelievable work and he has troubles. thats why he has a bronco.

i had the $$ for a home made turbo but im doing my interior over because i want to drive my car not look at its broken ass in my driveway.

Go a head flame away on me, this is the internet and i dont give a $hit

Oh and just because you have a few bolt-ons it doesnt mean you have a Serious car yet, hope you enjoy collecting 14 second timeslips.
Oink-as stated coat it or wrap it up: protect your god damn ass

Dude, the reason why im not using wrap is because i know two people that said its what made there manifolds crack. lol 14 seconds timeslips? come on dude u think ur cars quick because its got an e cam, x heads, and projector headlights(+20h.p.)? lol i just made the name SeriousSN95 bc its about the only things that wasnt takin. Dont worry ill post my slips just for you, man all that mad h.p ur makin with that base 302, i guess u would have to put it all through a viper tranny right.. o yeah what the time on ur car? or are you too afraid to get burnt rubber on the bumper paint. we wouldnt want to mess that pretty paint up.

Bimmertech lmao nah man im not a dick, i just hate when people read stuff and then think that they know it all? anyways umm, im using twins bc i got a REALLY good deal on em. shoot id rather use a single its alot less hassle for fabbing and stuff.Well, come down to daytona beach and mike will hook you up. go to his site and look at his work, its crazy.

wow, nice work oink. In fact it looks VERY similar to my kit, and im also using .48 t-3's.....it makes a very fun car to dive because boost comes in so fast.....Btw, you can use a fuel line disconnect kit to remove the a/c lines....same style connector.
Also i wrapped mine, and believe it or not, you can touch the pipes while it is running....the heat wrap works wonders.

Blueovalstang: Well i was going to keep the A/c but it was too much of a pain to work around so i figured just dump it, i really HARDLY EVER used it.Also, im using a diff engine, not the stock one.The engine i got will handle up to 600h.p.

MysteryMachine: mikes already had his turbo, hes going twin soon. check out his site to see it.

PS thanks for all the posts guys, keep leavin them!

What does being in a magazine have to do w/ being knowledgable about turbo's? Im not busting oink's ball's, as I respect his knowledge of Mustangs, and his ability to do his own work, but I just wanna know exactly what you meant by this statement??? I believe oink is one of the exception's when it comes to guys in mag's that dont know squat about their own cars. They pay some shop to install all of their mods and plan their whole combo out for them. Being in a magazine dosent qualify anybody as an "expert".

I actually went back up to the top to make sure I was on StangNet. (I thought I accidentally ended up "you know where")

Anyway, that looks nice Mike. Hadn't heard from ya' in a while. So is your NE car totally complete now?

Lets all get along! I just speak from personal hands on experience, with what has worked and has not worked for my cars/others cars I have worked on.

It's up to him what he wants to use ( or has to use), as the whole build is up to him.. I am simply doing the welding and cutting/fitting and answering his concerns/questions.

If budget was no concern, and time limatations were not either, I would just build him a complete kit, but this is what he had to work with, so that is what we are using.

As far as my94 goes, it is still in pieces, but like I mentioned a month or more ago in a recent thread I made, the car will drive once again.. Sometime soon.
I now have the space/shop and will have the equipment to do so. For the 01 GT, it is currently NA, but will be Twin turbo when I have the time.

Oink seems to always have his hands in something. He does really good work from what i have seen over time.
Guys honestly I started reading this and swore I was on ...(well you know where)
Someone asks questions and someone else loses their panties both get pissed.
Wow not chosing sides but
CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?
lol
I know if Oink puts it together it will be fast and honestly ya always run into probs with turbo cars.
Been there done that and swore I won't do it again.
