Shadetree Mechanic needs exhaust help...

Will both rear tailpipes come out from under a 95 without jacking it up? My car is lowered 3/4" and the pipes are 2 1/2". It looks really tight twisting them over the rear axle. I'm assuming the come out easiest by pulling them over the axle and out from under the rear bumper. Any help is appreciated.

My car came with mac tail pipes and they are bolted together just in front of the rear axle so I dont know how an oe exhaust is clamped together. I have had mine off and it did require the car being off the ground a bit to get them to twist around.

You ain't that lucky.... :D Youll have to cut them if there OEM as its one pc affair...Sawzall time... :nice:

I fabbed my stock tails with a reducer so they use clamps now and can come on/off when on a lift, as I swap between muflers....On the ground or even a floor jack, forget it...

I cut mine at the muffler and fed over the axle. The jack stands were up pretty high. But I didn't have to cut em in half.

Cutting those off with a hand saw sucked!! Definitely get your hands on a sawzall.

when i installed my mac cat-back, me and my brother cut the exhaust right after the muffler on one side and then jacked the opposite side on the lower control arm and had enough room to manouver it around the diff and out from under the car.
