Now I dont think it is the CDs. I saw him today and now the head unit will not even come on. We pulled the fuse but it was good. May just be a defective unit. He said he was taking it in on Mon, the thing I dont get, maybe if the Techs would stop fighting long enough they could tell me, why did they say they would have to pull the unit to get the part number off it so they could order another one. That sounds like 1960s technoligy to me. Dont they have thats stuff on a computer somewhere?

RisingForce is having a similar problem that I am, the skipping thing.

The other Thread got ruined by the tech being an a** keep this one clean and only respond if your having problems too

if more than one persons having a problem here don't be surprised if a tsb doesn't come out regarding your problem. you're dealing with a new model line here. it's possible the dealer may not have current parts manuals yet. it would be smart to use the number from the radio itself. it will also take some time for the dealers to stock parts that are more common to failure than others. same go for the mechanics doing the repairs. they will learn the more common failures that will happen in due time and therefore spend less time troubleshooting them. just as you are new to the 05 stang, so are the mechanics and partsmen. have patience but don't let the dealers forget you and your problem.

Take it from someone who handles computers every single day, what is in that system is only as reliable as the person who put the data in. You never know when something might get switched or a change that might occur and the system not get updated.

Better to pull it and be sure than for them to get the incorrect unit in.

The odd thing about this problem is that it's not a NEW head unit. The Mustang is new, yes, but the head unit has been around for close to two years. Why the problem now? Maybe something else is going on, like a voltage problem to the unit, or a bad relay.
