Shaving Moldings?

wow that is exactly what i would like to do with my car but i live in michigan and the hot summers and cold winters would be disastrous.

What does the weather have to do with the shaving of the moldings?Well i think that looks great, but how would you do it on a gt?

I think he just filled the square hole that is in the middle of the molding or metal.

Honestly not a fan of the looks of that blue notch. It looks ... I dunno ... swollen at the front and rear bumpers, like the car has a bad case of edema.

The pinstriping on those LX tail lenses has gotta go, too.

It looks fantastic with no moldings and molding details on the blue notch. The sides of the car between the wheel well moldings is filled in and smoothed nicely. The bumpers don't match up perfectly and look a little bulky since it appears the molding wasn't removed just covered over.
I have a prototype and tooling guy I hope to be working with the beginning of '09 doing some killer new hot rod fox body Mustang parts including flex resin fiberglass parts. Smooth bumpers are at the top of my list and plan to offer these as high quality and very affordable pricing. I will be tweaking the styling just a touch so I'm not just molding a stock bumper with no molding. I also have a great connection for carbon fiber parts that I will be producing. That's all for right now. Want to hear feedback on smooth bumpers....

I think it would be a good idea, something like a smooth one peice LX bumper without the "overbite", I guess you could call it.

What I dont like about the blue car is instead of just filling the "indent", he also smoothed the top of the moulding (where it meets the body) and didnt leave the harsh edge, he tried to blend it, and it makes it look bulky to me.

Yeah I see what you're talking about, I think StreakMatt's front bumper was better executed, he left the line at the top and it doesnt look all swollen and bulky.

Yes that does look much better, I would have left the bottom similar also, that crease, just smooth in the middle.
