Shelby drop and wheel/tire size?

Am needing to rebuild the front end and figured that I'd do the Shelby 1" drop while I had everything apart but had a question about wheel size.

At this time my car still has the original 14" steel wheels (not styled steel wheels) with the wheel covers and 185/75 R14 tires. Will this work for the time being or do I have to get larger rims and tires before I do this drop?

Have seen a number of posts about 15" to 18" rims and clearance but haven't seen any using the original 14" wheels. Am guessing these are probably 14x5.

No. You don't have to change anything with your wheel/tire to do a 1" shelby drop.

Your 14's will still work just fine after the shelby drop.

Was thinking of going to a 15x7 styled steel wheel but does anyone make an aluminum version to save on weight?
Like the look of the early wheels.

ya mine is fixina be dropped and its got 14" with 195/60R14's on it, and its gonna work just fine.

Iv'e got 14x7 wheels and 215-70-14's and they fit and look great
