Shelby front end drop

Hello Everyone,

I just completed a granada disc swap, the shelby upper control arm drop and cut a 1/2 a coil out of the front spring on a 66 Mustang. Now I need to drop the back 1-2" to match the front. My question is the proper measuring locations to determine a level point. I can be fooled easy by an optical illustions and only want to do it once. Do you measure from the top of the wheel lips, a level on the door sill or ????????.

IIRC, Ford made it easy on us in that the wheel lips are the same height front and back. Otherwise, in a nearly level place like a garage, just measure from the ground to the bottom of the rocker just behind the front tire well and just in front of the rear tire well. That should give you a good idea of whether the car is level.

You may want to stick that nose down just a bit.

At Interstate speeds she is going to lift producing a "boat in water" appearance.

I agree, but I'm a huge believer in the old "stand back and look at the car" method of determining stance. Use a tape to make it level side-to-side, but then make it look appealing to you by dropping the rear until you like what you see.

How old are the front coils if they are new you might want to let them settle a bit before you try to set finnal height
