I got a universal shorie at Pep-boys, it has adapters. Looks better than the flag pole that comes on the car. There are also antenne setups that go along the windshields, so there is no pole sticking up from the fender.

done it to mine as well.. the top ball piece on the end of it will knock off.. use your imagination on how to get it off the antenna.. then cut where you want it.. then take it in a vice.. hit the ball back on with a hammer.. i took mine and stripped it and polished it up.. looks like billet

to get the ball off i just put my antenna in a vice and then took the claw part of a hammer to it. but be careful because that ball will come shooting off and you do not want to lose it.

find something small you can slip the antenna through and drop it so that the ball will hit it and try to knock it up. A fork might work well too.

When you get it off, cut antenna to proper lenght, file a bezel to the end, slip the ball on and pound it on the floor.

That's the link I was looking for. I did this to my 95 and I stripped the black off with the wire wheel on the bench grinder than polished it with the buffing wheel on the bench grinder. Looked pimp lol

No, I was just replying to the pimp looking phrase in your last post..............................Update, Hack saw on teh kitchen table with a towel and some napkins and it is now cut to 17" from point that it leaves the car. About matches the roof line. If it looks good, great, it saved me $40, if not, then I guess I'll just break down and buy one. I look for batteries and try to take pic.
