I did mine a while back. It really didn't hurt the reception either. I actually had mine soldered/welded at work to keep the ball on better.

It doesn't stink you idiot. Some of those are years old. The only deer that has it's whole skull is the 7 pnt that I shot 2 years ago, let it sit out all winter and summer tied up in a tree. The small skull is a coyote I shot with my bow. No stink

Well, I'm sure the size has something to do with reception, but I didn't lose any reception that I can notice after I did mine. The stock antennae is way too long.

yeah, those were just some 1 in the morning pictures. I still haven't finished ti yet but plan to tonight or tomorrow. What kind of stuff did you guys use to put the ball back on? Epoxy
I don't listen to the radio so I don't need any reception. Actually, I forgot to hook up the antenna wire into the back of the head unit and it's been like that for a month.wht93gtEd said:aren't antennas a specific size for a reason?
