Here are some pics of my car:
http://www.sounddomain.com/id/matt94gt

I love the look of Saleens but dont know if I should get a Saleen Kit, Hood and wing or just get a Hood and possibly a wing.

What are your thoughts?

The one reason im not thinkin the saleen kit and just a hood is that iv heard story's about the saleen kits not fitting perfect (getting a fake one, Urethane) is this true? Also the fact that the kit would force me to get a hood as well as a wing to complete the package which will be really expencive after paint in the long run.

Now if I only get a hood I realled like the Cobra R/Cobra RR hood but I think its too plain by its self (i mean without a bodykit) so I was thinking the Cobra SVO hood. (one with the 2 levels like the cobra R hood but also a cowl/opening in the top)

What do you guys think?

I say go for the whole kit. I haven't heard of too many people having fitment problems with these, and they look bada**.

I'd do the whole thing. Kinda spendy though. Saleen periodically runs a special and sells the whole kit (bumper covers, side skirts, graphics, wing) for just over $1000. Of course, it'll cost you another grand or so to have it installed and painted...

Well I was thinking of getting a knock off kit from www.mrbodykit.com since hes local to me...a urathane kit that is it comes to like $1200US for the kit and a S281 wing with taxes and everything. How do the knock off kits usually fit?

Where can I get these authentic saleen stuff for $1000!?!?

Save your self some trouble and buy the saleen kit from Saleen. They fit great and are top of the line.
The time you spend fitting and preping the Mr Body kit will not be worth the savings.

A little over $1000, it is selling right now for $1199. Includes the bumper covers, skirts, decals, and S281 wing. http://www.saleen.com/store2000/detail_new.asp?car=saleen&prodid=031-020

And that is exactly what I want my car to look like. Right down to the canary yellow wheels .

I have the Xenon kit and 351 wing but stock hood. If I had to do it again, I would get the 281 wing, Cobra R SVO hood, and NO body kit. Hard to paint those suckers, and theyre always scraping something.

he's right. either buy the whole thing or nothing. it looks alot better if you buy the hood, side skirts, front bumper, rear bumper and wing all together. the hood is important and definitely ties together to whole package.

be sure to have lots of extra $ for paint and prep. it takes alot of labor to make the parts look good and fit right.

btw, make sure you have enough $ to get the whole kit (and hood) repainted every 16 months. rock chips and scratches are no big deal on a stock 'stang. but when you have a saleen kit everyone expects it to look brand new all of the time. i had to have mine re-painted and re-fitted twice since i bought it in 2000.

here's a pic of mine one month after it got out of the body shop in 2003.

The Cobra front end is marginally better than the stock GT one, but still pretty tame IMHO. That's why I'd like to do the Saleen -- more aggressive, but still tasteful.
