I am not sure what I should do next to the car. I had recently put in a 331. Need to get a new MAF just curious if anyone KNOWS that I should get larger injectors along with my MAF. thanks all
I'm interested to know about this too. I know my combo is going to be putting out a bit more power than it did before and I don't want to upgrade injectors just yet as I know I will have to next year with the mods I have planned for then.
I was hoping to just increase the fuel pressure and pulse width to get me by for the time being.
my combo is in my sig and I have been using the car with the 24lbers for a little while. I am not sure of the hp levels my motor is putting out. I would hope it would be over 300 rwhp.
I am also not sure if bigger injectors will increase my performance but I need to get a new MAF as mine is the stock 70mm. I don't want to get a new MAF calibrated to 24lb injectors if its better that I run 30 or 36lb. Then I would do it all at once.
With 24's, you usually can get by without a lot of over rich issues and the matching caled maf run in cheat mode can be reasonable good ... again, most but not all of the time.
HOWEVER
Once you move up to 30's
You may/may not need to dial back the start/crank fuel table a bit
You may/may not need lean back the idle a bit as well
Then again ... you really just need a good tune to get the most out of a nice combo such as yours.
Making a few adjustments for the larger inj's ...........
its no biggie for a tuner
are you tuning this yourself or taking it somewhere? I would step up to 30s, they allow you to grow a bit with your combo. how's your supporting fuel hardware? have an intank fuel pump?

Upping the pressue is always an option as it can make the inj work as a larger sized one.
That method does have its limits
I'd wanna have a way to verify I had not exceeded those limits
as we all know what can happen if you go too lean at wot
I can tell you a good bit of self tuning peeps I have worked with in the past have moved from 24's to 30's over the past couple of years. These peeps were running NA Aluminum head based h/c/i combos with full supporting mods btw.
Another thing needs to be said about these peeps before I move on to another thought. All these peeps are self tuners who DO NOT run their combos at elevated fuel pressure levels.
Have you noticed the many peeps who run forced combos now run larger sized inj's than the typical 42's you used to see?
It is my belief these trends have been caused from peeps being able to more readily see hard data these days than was possible not all that long ago.
