Should I Modify a Limited Edition

Just bought my first Mustang, a 2007 California Special. LOOOOVE IT!!!!!!
If I modify will it hurt the value of a limited edition. Would like to replace the hood with a Steeda's 2 step cowl induction hood. New girl on the block and need some advice. THANKS!!!!

The GT/CS is not too limited. You won't hurt the value anymore than you would a GT. It's always a good idea to keep the stock parts, though, so it can be returned to stock if you go to sell it. Enjoy your car. Worry about the rest when that time comes.

Hi Tracy,

Listen to the Gentlemen. Enjoy the Stang and modify at will. Life is too short.

Enjoy. Welcome to Stangnet and post pics when you have some.

I agree. Modify but keep the original parts so you could go back if you wanted.
However, I would be reluctant to modify a really rare and valuable car.

I would not be scared to mod one. IF I could afford the Super Snake, I would mod it too!!!!! Just to be a bit different from the others. No harm at all with swapping the hoods. As long as you keep the original one out of harms way, nobody will know the difference if/when you decide to switch back(just take real good care of your paint so it still kinda matches if that be the case ). Enjoy your new ride and your time here on :SNSign:

mod it, it's worth no more than limited edition toys from Happy Meals.

I'd give you several Happy Meal toys for it. But I understand V's point. The California Special, which I love, is not limited enough to be rare and valuable.

mod it, don't worry about it. if you bought it as an investment, it isn't worth having...enjoy the car!

Um just so you know. There has been a collectors market for some of those toys. And I have personally seen some sell for considerably more than the value of the meal.
