Roush should i replace the stock racecraft springs??

I have a set of bbk progressive rate springs sitting in my room. would these make my car handle better than the stock racecraft springs?

suspension question

hey jmd. I am taking my '02 Saleen to Griggs Racing at Infineon this weekend. I am going for the rear portion of the GR-40 suspension package including the sub-frame connectors. I HIGHLY recommend you check it out. If you want your Mustang to hold the road, this is the way to go. You are looking at about $4500 to do the rear end and will get ALL the Mustang can offer in the way of handling. I see you are in Napa, so just a short drive to the race track.

Yeah im not that far from the track however 4500 is alittle expensive for a college kid. I'm just tryin to decide on weather or not the pay the money to swap the springs or if i should trade the bbk springs for c/c plates. if youre going to infineon you must be somewhat close.

Hi jdm. I understand the cost issue but you don't have to get the whole kit. You can do just the coil over springs. This would probably be better than springs you are considering. And as an added bonus, you can adjust the ride at any time via adjustment on shock. This will lower the car (if you like) or raise it (I will never post to you again if you raise it ) and not change the ride. I am getting the frame connectors, pan hard and torque bar, so the welding work is something I cannot do.

I just checked Griggs Racing and you are looking at $500 for coil over springs and shocks and probably will need some mounting hardware (you may need control arms too) and you can install yourself. This should not be too difficult to do and would be improvement over your existing suspension.

I am dropping my car off on this coming Monday and hopefully be done by Friday. I will by DYING to take on the road, so let me know if you want to check it out and will head your way

DO NOT JUST RAISE AND LOWER YOUR COIL OVERS!!!!!!!

This will affect your corner and cross weights. If you do not have a set of scales, leave it wherever it was set up at (assumeing who ever put them in to begin with used scales to set up the car). You may think this will not affect the ride much, but it can have a dramatic change in the way the car handles.

so long story short i should leave the racecraft springs in? i have both sets just curious what i should do. I want to do coilovers but i just bought my kyb agx's and springs a few months ago. so.....anyone wanna trade me some c/c plates for bbk progressive springs that have never seen the road?

I wasn't just suggesting to arbitrarily raise or lower the car at whim (although it looks like that now that I re-read what I wrote ) I am just making note that the car can be easily set to desired hight and the spring rate is un-affected. My car is going to be set-up by Griggs and they know a thing or two about Mustangs, so no problemo

I would keep the racecraft springs for now as you being in college I'm sure your budget isn't much to work with. The BBK springs will not give you any better handling. Get the C/C plates, they will help with cornering and handling over the stock setup.
just my 2 cents worth.

what kind of c/c plates should i get? how do i set them? do they come with strut bushings? cuz i think the ones in the svo strut mounts i have ( i think they came stock) are shot

Maximum motorsport or griggs C/C plates will do fine. You have to take the car for a front end alignment after you install them.

damn, i should have done them before i took it in after my rack and pinion/tie rod install
