Here is the skinny:

Ive been trying to sell this laptop on ebay. First time around, I get a scammer who wanted me to send the laptop to Nigeria and had a weak story, so I relist.

Second time around, I get another scammer from Nigeria. This guy is better though. He sends me a fake paypal confirmation from an account that could almost appear real if you didnt see that it wasnt sent by Paypal.

So here is my dilemna. He is willing to give me his Fedex account to send the package to Nigeria -- big bucks. Of course, he wants me to put the value at $10 for customs reasons. Here is my idea, which Ill admit is not original - Ive seen it online somewhere: I put a phonebook in a box, use his fedex account number to mail it to him in Nigeria using the most expensive option, BUT put the real value on it, ie $600. Basically, he will end up paying out the *ss in both shipping and custom charges to get a phonebook :flag: Or I can just tell him that I know he is a scammer and let it end there.

What do you think?

If you know it's fake, SCAM HIM. Nigearians are nasty anyways. Foreiners suck, not as bad as they do when they are here, but suck, they do.

Don't send a phone book, then he'll just use it to call somone, or if I know how nigearia is, they will use it for a stool or something. Clean out the kitty pan and send him that and say "you give me ****, so I give you ****." You could put some white powder the note and say "got you, now your going to die" and really scare the crap out of this idiot.

Oh yeah, the P-P-Powerbook! That is classic.

Nigeria.. doesn't it sound like a disease.

Phone conversation:
YOU: Hey, you sound sick, are you ok?
BUD: Naw man, I'm F'd up"
YOU: What happened?
BUD: You know that wierd chick I was with the other night?
YOU: Yeah, did you bang her?
BUD: Yeah, she gave me Nigeria.

Nigeria - The "ia" in "Nigeria" is a suffix meaning "the place where the the prefix resides" so that means. land of the... well you know... a work some people find quite offensive.

I'd send a picture of it and put "nice try" as a note... don't bother making it cost him an arm and a leg for shipping...

Put the picture of the laptop on the phone book, and charge him for shipping!!!

I was selling a TV on eBay a while ago, and I got a few of those. Gimme a break. :uzi:

Jeff

It would be far more priceless if you had a broken laptop to send him. He'd open it up, have really high hopes, then see that it didn't work and that there was a cheese sandwich crammed into the disc drive.

I'm not really an evil person, but I like to see jerks suffer.

Hey dude.... same EXACT thing happened to me with my xbox 360 im trying to sell... same nigeria crap too... got the fake paypal and everything.

Scam him.. i told the fedex guy to take a hike when he showed up

You know it's a scam because it's not like there are no laptops in nigearia. But because of corrupt goverment, they know they will never get caught. Although the scam probally only works a fraction of the time, the cost are minimal to them to run it, makeing it profitable, but if we mess with them and cost them money, then it takes out of the profitablility. Thats why it is good to re-scam them.

Nick! What's up man? I just lost my first street race -- black Porsche 911 Turbo. Raced him from a roll, which was a bad call I know. I got the jump on him but once that turbo kicked in, bye bye. Oh well, not often you get to race a car like that.
