Most of you know, I'm working on the 331 with Track Heat Top End combo right now.
Talked to Don about chipping the car and what he recommended. In that discussion, bigger injectors came up. Darn, knew that expense was going to get me.
Anyway, ordered this: http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/p...B37F7FDD0FC473B2FD919ED50CFA1&products_id=532
Helluva price. I was excited, my first BIG BIG project for my car besides the tranny in the past.... alot of people have listed the above site for products so , click, click (ordered). Upon completing the ordered I learned they ship "no signature required" and give you NO tracking number. Well, crap wish I had seen that before I placed the order. The "leaving it on my doorstep doesn't work well where I live". I live in a Townhouse. Fancy name for an apt. complex - where I've had packages delivered to the wrong people. Luckily I had their signature and could track down where they lived. Sure enough, once I found a guy that signed for my hard drive. He had already opened the package and was putting it in his computer! Said he thought it was a gift from a friend.
So I filled out the Contact Us form on their website. Explaining my need for a signature required or at least a tracking number (I pick up most of my stuff at the depot as I'm usually not home when they try to deliver). Didn't hear anything. Later got the automated "order updated". Still no word on the signature required. Replied to the automated email. (AOL email addy instead of the domain email addy) and a lady named Belinda replys:
"Thank you for your inquiry. We do not give out tracking numbers but are happy to track your package any time enroute. I just tracked yours, and DHL shows a delivery date of this coming Monday, January 8, 2007. "
Their automated email even has "Tracking number:" listed - it's blank.
After a couple of emails asking about the package AND letting them know I wasn't impressed in there "no tracking" policy.... I went home on lunch Monday to make sure no one put their paws on my package. I stayed until 1:30 when my G/F came home from work. She was there the entire time until I got off work at 5pm. I raced home again... nothing.
So I sent an email saying please tell me the delivery company is a day behind or something. Cause the package is NOT here, hopefully a neighbor kid didn't steal the stuff.
Nothing.... gave it until Wed (today) and I called in this time.
Once the lady looked up the order, she was down right rude to me. The order was cancelled. I was being accused of "potential credit card fraud" - I went through what I did, she said "no you didn't". Supposedly this is NOT calling me a liar?
After listening to how they get charged $10 fees for redirects if they send out tracking numbers. It basically boiled down to the fact: They didn't get the "signature request" from their Contact Us form. They cancelled the order after it almost made it here. This was news to me. Just checked the order online... it just said shipped. No emails stating it was cancelled. No refund on my CC yet. I was still waiting for my package thinking they were behind on emails.
Since the form I filled out wasn't from my email, I had no proof I sent it. All the other emails came after the package was shipped. She said she was done talking to me, and hung up.
I tried calling back in, couldn't get through on the phone I was using. Interesting. Used my cell, went right through. This time a guy answered... said he was the owner of the company. Great news! Went through all this for 22 minutes and 7 seconds according to my phone. I quickly learned why the first lady was so rude. She's been trained to be. In that time, I never once got an apology, or even that it could have been miscommunication. I admitted I screwed up and didn't put the request IN the comment section ON the order. Silly me for not assuming $400 worth of parts be set on my front steps if I didn't send 18 emails and call to make sure they updated the shipment BEFORE they shipped it. Also I'm silly for thinking they can change the Signature Required After it's sent. I really didn't know the "NEW" thing is to not give out tracking numbers as that's how most of the fraud is done now. By redirecting the package (costs them $10 when you do that). I'm not a thief, didn't know the ways they worked.
Now I know, and now YOU know. So be very careful ordering online.... Dot your i's and cross your t's. READ everything BEFORE you order.
This all ended with him stating he wasn't going to mess with this situation anymore because there wasn't enough profit margin in what I ordered. He even stated I would most likely never order from them again anyway. I was just after a good deal. Uh, duh!
He did tell me to have Summit price match the parts and enjoy paying the "handling fee". Okay, I will it's the same price as their shipping fee
.... and I'll sign for MY products and know I will receive them and not have to pay for something some one else stole.
The way they talked... this is a daily occurance with their company. Yikes!
Thus the attitude. They read "stolen" in an email and ASSUMED I would be the one doing the stealing and cancelled my order - but didn't let me know. Just curious how many "honest customers" have to pay for the online thieves.
I've never heard of anything negative about ordering from this place... and I'm not saying to get parts elsewhere. I'm saying becareful. In their defense, the parts were supposedly on the way and were shipped out very quickly.
Sending stuff without a signature required is just setting yourself (the customer) up for fraud.
