i think i will be getting 2 chamber flows or something..the loudmouth is WAY TOO LOUD for this xpipe..it sounds like a firecracker and BB's rocketeering in the pipes..is this normal?does anybody know if anyone that has the loudmouth with offroad X?i cant take it..its so loud with NO TONE..it doesnt have that classic mustang sound im looking for..am i going to loose power by switching from SLP to 2 chamber flows?..it sounds lke a harley..no deepness whats so ever..just a frickin LOUD BOMB going off in the streets..people say it sounds like a pissed off 10 second car..when i go from 2nd to 3rd..its the loudess...you have to hear it..ive decided i HATE IT..I want loud, but something that sounds good, not like crap...Will going to 2 chamber flows slow me down? also im thinking of just buying Mufflers to Weld in the place of the resonators..let know guys...anybody with the upr x-pipe, did you guys get a little metal cylider thing that attaches to the header manifold on the drivers side?if so was it a seperate piece?i didnt install it but i doubt thats the reason my sounds obnoxious

There is too many mixing and matching of exhaust components gping on all over the place. They don't all work well together. If you want an OR X with the SLP Catback, I think you need to stay with SLP stuff. I have heard that the catted SLP X pipe is pretty nice with the loudmouth. But no matter what, you arn't going to get the clasic stang sound with SLP as you call it. SLP has a sound of its own...like a classic muscle car.

The gains from a full SLP exhaust(LTs, Xpipe, etc..) are supposed to be pretty good, but I agree; they sound like one long rail-grabbing Nell Carter fart. That's going from what I heard on the mustang exhaust page. MM&FF had the gains at like 30 rhp with the full exhaust. I'd like to hear what it sounds like. Not sure if dealing with the sound is worth it if it doesn't have the 'classic rumble' you're looking for.

You won't lose any power but you might gain back some low end tourqe. I just switched mufflers from little 12 inch center in/out borla x-r1's to 3 chamber flowmasters and got back that classic mustang sound and a ton of low end tourqe. Before with the x-r1's my car would struggle to move from 1,200 rpm's to about 2,900 rpm's, now it pulls hard from 800 rpm's up to redline. I do have longtubes and a off-road pipe though, my car really needed some backpresure.

A friend of mine has the SLP Loudmouth with their O/R x pipe, it has an ok tone but it's loud as hell, more than I could stand. And he drove from Texas to Florida with that setup and some 410's to go to FFW down there. He took earplugs, LOL.

Too many youngsters on this site that have no idea what a good old, '69 Mustang sounds like. They didn't sound like flows, borlas, or fart cans. The SLP brings back the old, raspy sound of glass packs. That's the idea.

thanks for all the replys..but first off, when i had the slp loudmouth by itself..it was awesome, i didnt care about the mustang sound because the slp sound was just as good..just a little different, but with this upr pipe..OMG, its like a joke, i dont think you guys understand, when i get to anything over 2500rpms..its HIGH PITCHED..like a Dirt Bike..is this normal?its loud, high pitched, no tone definition, and pops, crackles, burps out exhaust...But lets go to the point..I have 2 important questions

1. I dont want to buy a whole new exhaust..can i have a exhaust shop Cut my resonators and install flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers?? will that be the same thing almost as buying the actual exhaust?

2. Do midpipes vary that much?will the slp o/r xpipe not sound like a harley?..it really sounds like a harley people...or a honda 250 dirt bike..

Thats what you get with an x pipe.

i know how you feel. ive got bbk full lenghts o/r h pipe and slp crackle mouth catback. it blows got power up top but it feels weak down low. i absolutly hate slp. im gonna go with 2 chamber flows. your right above 2500 rpm it sounds like a hillbilly pick up cackling like crazy but if you want loud there is definetly no disapointments. its nice quaility stuff, i love the tips i will probably buy an older 4.6 kit and reuse the tips i think that is the only diff. between the new and old 4.6 kits.

Do you have cats? I had the full SLP setup without cats and it was unbearably loud. I bought the cats and now it sounds amazing!! Hardly any rasp and sound peaks around 3500 and it doesn't get any louder. No loss in track time at the track and no loss in seat of the pants feel. If you want to keep the SLP sound, just get cats. SLP has very short high flow cats for $200.00 a set.
