smog pump to h-pipe tube......

i need a smog pump to h-pipe tube that feeds air to the cats. 50resto and ford sell them but they are 100 bucks..... F-that....does anyone have one they will sell me? or is there anything i can use in its place like rubber hose?

help me, my bassani catted x pipe will be here soon.

thanks

I made one from 3/4" copper plumbing tubing for my wifes 95 GT... You can't use rubber tubing because the gasses are coming straight from the heads and are waaaaaay too hot...

I have a rubber hose on mine and no problems at all. I have a bbk h pipe and they sent a rubber hose with it, but it was to short so I went to pep boys and bought a longer piece it was 3/4 id.

I'll bet you have a short little piece of rubber hose running from the H-pipe to the smog pipe... My guess is that it does not run all the way from the heads down to the H-pipe... Not a problem with using a little piece to connect the smog tube to the H-pipe as the gasses have cooled significantly by the time they get down there, but it is hot as hell coming out of the heads... I tried three different "high-temperature" tubes and all melted... Maybe there is one, but I certainly could not find it....

y not stainless braided line

I may be smoking dope and maybe someone is going to say they have found a rubber hose that will not melt under the temps we are talking about but...

The gasses are INSIDE the hose, so braided or not the rubber will be exposed to the gas temperature... Seems to me it would just melt...

Hmmmmmm... Perhaps I am having a foot in mouth moment.... It has been a year since I did this to my wifes car... But it seems to me that the smog tube doesn't run from the smog pump to the H-Pipe, but from the back of the heads to the H-Pipe...

Maybe we are talking about two different things...

The one that I am talking about has an EGR valve attached to it to allow exhaust gasses back into the manifold.... UGH!!! The car is in storage so I can't go out and look and all that crap is missing from my car!!!!!

i have my pipes blocked off on the back of my heads...so the only part of the hose that would get remotely hot would be near the h pipe. all i have is the smog pump and a 1 way check valve. im just hooking up the air pump to the cats so i dont destroy my new bassani catted x pipe.

when i took my stock pipe off i couldn't get the smog pump tube thing un attached so i pulled and pulled and got it out but it pulled like something on the end out too, was that attached to something that i need to block off or what?
